My plants are in their 3rd week of flowering. Should I trim the fan leaves so that more light can get to the buds or will this hurt the plant???

Either way man, most of the light is gonna go to the top leaves so those buds will be bigger, but yeah you can trim them a litttle, but dont go overboard and chop them off completely.:blsmoke:

If you trim plants in bud then the plant is going to be putting its growth ,energy into healing the damage you have done by trimming. So by trimming you are forcing the plant to put its energy that it should be using for budding into healing stress. So instead of putting all the growing into making good bud growth your slowing it down a few weeks by trimming. You do the math whats best for the plant?
Tying back leaves is best. Only trim ,take off dead or very unhealthy leaves.

I agree with gardenandcats your not gonna have great big buds due to the plant reparing itself, I would tie them back as well....... sometimes the fan leaves support the bud at least it has for people I know so try tying them
