please i need help

im new to this shit no experience what so ever but i just got a hold of some seeds ok this is what i did to day 9-4-07 i got some good dirt a good flower pot in some super grow that green stuff i put the dirt in the pot poked 4 holes 3 inches deep in put 4 seeds inside in covered it up in sprinked some super grow green stuff on top and watered am i going the right direction on want my own plant can yall give me a daily method on how to grow

first off 3inches deep is way to deep,i put mine not ven a half inch...
