Hi guys

This is my first grow and im nearing week 3 from the seed. The plant im growing is white widow (fem) freom nirvana.

i done something really silly the other day i put the plant under a 600 watt hps and burnt a few of the leaves. i quickly changed it to 200 watt cfl.

now the leaves feel really dry and alot of the leaves that didnt burn are starting to curl on the edges.

I havnt started using any nutes yet

and im keeping the cfl on 24 hrs. take a look at some of my pics and would appreciate your feedback.

thanks

proably heat stress. turn the light out for a night, turn it back on when u get up. ur new growth should be ok. when using HPS or MH make sure the light is 18-20 inches away from the plant, and make sure u have good ventilation to prevent heat stress.

go 18/6 and spray some cold water on the leaves. You might even move the light away for a few hours also. Prob no long term damage just some burning but you should be alright man. My g/f nuked my plants one time with 110 degree heat stress and they where only seedlings and I brought them back to life so you should be alright.

hmm 2 different responses. i only put the hps on the plant for about 20 min n it cooked 2 of the leaves. now some of the others have patches appearing.. and as i said the leaves are curling on edges. i had 2 shitty little cfls on to start with. then when i burnt thats what made me go get 200 watt blue spectrum cfl. she was growing like mad and still seems to be but as i said now the patches started appearing on leaves that didnt seem to be burnt. i think il go for the 18/6 and hopefully it will give the plant a rest. also should i have the fan directly at the plant or should i have it oscilating. as i hjave it oscilating atm. currently only have 1 plant in grow room.

Leave the fan oscilating so you dont get wind burn. Put it on the 18/6 see if those brown patchs go away, if they dont and your not using nutes than you need to look at your soil. Does you soil use those time released nutes?

@ robzila, should i spray the water on the leaves when the lights are off?
Yes you can run the risk of your lights "blowing up" if you spray cold water on the hot light by accident. Although I spray with my lights on I use floros so they dont get that hot. Yea but some cold water on the leaves and maybe move the light up for a few hours to let to plant just relax wont hurt at all. Just be sure not to forget to lower you light again after a few hours to pervent strechting.

Right on man seems like you got the right idea on the soil. Did you add the fertz in yourself or are they the time released already added by the company?

Why did you consider putting the plants under a 600w to be silly?
I think he thought a 600w was to much for that little plant.....which is not totally wrong that little thing doesnt really need to be under and 600w HPS yet IMO.

Wasnt having a pop fella, you seem far to polite and humble to be a twat. Just that im about to do something fairly similar - putting my young auto flower plants under a 400w - although my research has left me fairly confident that if they're far enough away this shouldnt be a problem. I shall see if this is false confidence shortly lol
