PM && Regeneration

This is my first harvest dealing with P.M. (Powdery Mildew), I'll give a tiny bit of background info for the hell of it even though my real question is concerning regenerating plants with PM.

The ladies are purple kush, they've had PM for about 4 weeks now, unfortunately I sprayed them with Safer Garden Fungicide two weeks prior to harvest ... I know, I know my flowers are probably gonna taste like you're smoking a BT with matches.

My local hydro owner told me to do this (he never did me wrong in the past) and I repetitively said "It's okay on flowers???" ... him: "how long into flowering".... me: "2weeks away, I just wanna chop them down!" ... and he reassured me that spraying them with Safer Garden Fungicide was a better option than chopping the precious ladies.

So did I really fuck my ladies up or what? Gonna taste like match heads? Either way I'll probably just end up making a lot of hash and making edibles from the hash.

Also how harmful is it to smoke plants that were infected with PM? Will it make me sick or will it just be harsh and taste funny?

To the real question at hand ... If I regenerated my ladies will the PM still be there next harvest?

I'm asking this because of a thread I read here on rollitup .... I'll source it ....

"The problem with P.M. is, once you can see it, it's already IN your plants. It takes two weeks to become visible, and it is systemic, meaning the fibers go INTO the leaf tissue and actually start circulating through the plant. Only one thing kills P.M."

I really really wanted to try regeneration out for the first time, but if it is true the P.M. is inside the plant than seems like there is really no cure for it, but only prevention and treatment.

So I'm guessing even if I use neem oil, sulfur products, zero tolerance (and whatever else there is to help plants), with more fans and a better dehumidifier... I'll still run a huge risk of P.M. regenerating these ladies.

Also any tips for drying my current harvest would be greatly appreciated ... I read some shit like dipping the buds into hydrogen peroxide ... but holy shit balls my buds probably already taste like sulfur from spraying them a couple weeks back, I don't want to make matters worse.

Thanks in advance for you time, love, and compassion.

Also I'd like to add that today I cut off a leaf to check the trichomes and less than an hour of chopping the leaf off the mold grow and spread ... I'm really not looking forward to harvesting the ladies ... this sucks, harvesting has always been a lovely experience up till now.

"The best thing to do is to be preventative. So go get a sulfur burner and use it 2-3 times while plants are in veg and should prevent anything from showing up later in flower. I have sulfured with 1 week left and noticed no difference in taste or anything bad. My lemur told me he did a sulfur when the plants were drying even, I thought that was a little extreme."

Lol sulfur while it's drying madness ... not sure if I wanna try that lols, but now I've heard sulfur and hydrogen peroxide after harvesting to deal with PM ... also like to mention I heard of pine oil works and doesn't effect taste.

Any and all input is welcomed, I'm chopping soon.

Also I'm 95% sure I should just kill the girls and start with a different strain, instead of regenerating purple kush with PM.

Fuck man, that P Kush is so bomb I hope its not ruined.
The reason that ur Hydro guy told u to spray them is because that would be the thing to do with flowers or fruit. U dont eat flowers and fruit can be washed off. Buds can be wahsed off too before drying them but with a slight potency loss. Im a fan off the h2o2 or even better, Zreotol for any garden bacteria, fungus, mildew, or virus. Both are odorless, tasteless, and have high oxidizing power.

I'm sure he knew that I was speaking of MJ ... but I've come across hydro shop guys who'll just try to sell you things and he isn't that type ... so maybe he's just ill-informed I don't know.

I'm rather reluctant to spray my harvested herbs with anything at this point.

All I have to say about this mess is ... I should have sprayed them during veg a lot more. This was the only harvest that I didn't spray the ladies a lot during veg (I'm pretty sure I sprayed them ONCE and only once after getting them as a clone) and I might pay for it ... hopefully not.

Thank you for your input.

Pleas let me know how it goes. I hav heard of a few people using burners up to harvest day mself and they do just fine. Never tried the smoke tho, just what they say, so Im curious to see how this goes.

I think it's gonna be okay even though I sprayed the flowers with the sulfur spray roughly 2 weeks ago ... also it's not like I went wild with it, sure I put a lot of the fan leaves (which actually didn't burn them at all) ...

My biggest mistake was cutting off the infested fan leaves, that only made matters worse the PM spread on the open wound. Live and learn.

Next time prevention, prevention, prevention.

Also FYI I harvested all the mature buds most of which were early anyways like 10-30% amber ... I'm leaving the rest of the buds on the plants, gonna treat the whole plant and wait for them to ripen ... and if they end up tasting like crap gonna hash it .. I'm hoping to at least get an OZ of tasty purple kush ... seeing as how PK is such a weak producer in the first place and I'm doing things legit (e.g. within 215 laws).
