those super silver haze seeds shells look a bit dull, so i will err on the side of caution and soak them for one day..i usually go straight to my patented paper-towel-on-the-wireless-modem method, but just in case they've been sitting around..the soak should give the shells enough moisture to crack.

If I was to grow I would grow female seeds C99. From what I hear it's a good sativa high that produces well with very little trimming involved after a short 54 day flowering time

From what I have been reading The female seeds version is an uplifting high. And makes everyone at work stupid silly for the rest of the night at work

leave them in a cup of water for a day in a dark cool spot.

after 24 hours, tap them. if they sink, plant them. if they continue to float, give them another 12 hours of soaking before planting.

SSH Update:

all 5 popped; the obligatory strong pheno with leaf; 3 normal pheno; and the slow pheno..unfortunately, got busy with school and all but one burned up because i put something heavier (folded dry paper towel) than the usual "black apple dust cloth" to cover..too heavy damn it!..You know, I stopped and thought about the weight..should have followed my instinct and took the time to look for that cloth..so instead of having 5 to choose from..meet mom:wink:

PS when someone makes fun of your technique because it's not "what they do"..go with your instincts..do what works for YOU!

This might be useful for you.

Some people take a small matchbox and put bits of emery board in the box. Then they shake the seeds around a bit in the box, to scarify them before attempting to germinate them.

i've heard of that..filing the seams actually works a bit better.

lately, as long as i swell, i can quick germ for a leaf pop.

personally, don't like dropping seeds; i need to know.

Some people report success with keeping their temperatures high (over 85) when germinating using the paper towel method.

It can be no fun when expensive seeds are duds. Good luck with it.
