I bought timber citizen 300w kit no frame. They have screw holes on the sides so i bought screws and each one is hung by its self. I also bought the citizen 100w kit. I made a frame for them 2 cobs and am using it in a 2x4 tent. Bright as hell. I have to dim the 300w cause my room is onlh 55"tall so yes my plants are all smaller but im working on it still. Those vegetables were grown under the 300w 12/12 lighting also.

Maybe because the lights you are looking at are garbage? Seriously, there is very little info about the actual chips they are using. The technical details are almost non existent.

You don't have to buy a giant timber rig for $1000. Their 250 watt and 300 watt Citizen frames would likely crush that chinese Amazon light you have your eye on. Or you'd simply be better off with a vented 600 or a ceramic 315 or quantum boards.

How big is your space?

^ That thing is used, but there is no way it's older than 2 years. The Cree chips that light uses are good for 5 years, if not more.

Cree chips arent supposed to be used for extended periods of timw I use osram 1% deprecation rate

appreciate the link and info @Johnny Lawrence quick question: for another $100 what about the CXB3590 for a small grow?
The Citizen chips are cheaper than the Crees, but are comparable to them in terms or performance/light output. They're a slightly better value.

You might want to look into quantum boards if head space is an issue. They're cheap, and I've seen some grow journals where guys were producing pretty big colas under them. I linked to the quantum thread on page 1.

just for clarification for me: the Citizen chips are the better value?

You can take the chinese piece of crap and swap out the on board chips with vero 29s for an extra hundred bucks
Then replace the cheap drivers over time
200 for the cheap shell and drivers 100 for the veros. Or yeah just go with timber like he did, if your worried about drivers
The cheapo drivers will get you by, I ran mine for nearly a year

I've never heard your claim that Cree cobs can't be run for extended periods. Care to share where you heard this? Links?
