The room is - 2-1000w 2-600w, 4- Magnum xxxl 6", 2 Valueline Fans, Co2, Dehumid.

My A/C is a Portable 9,000BTU SoleusAir It has a Intake and Exhaust, Exhaust is as short as possible.. It Runs on and off, but wont stay on all the time.. Do these things have a duty Cycle?

It was not able to keep the room below 85, I moved the Ballasts outside the room, and now its good to go, but im worried about this summer..

Do i have a bad A/C? Not enough BTU?

Thanks for helping the Newb!

The lights are going to put out about 3.4 BTU per watt, around 5,500 BTU. If the remainder of the conditions are OK that unit should be enough. What are the temps in there with everything off? If that room is hotter in the summer I suspect that you will have an issue again. Since the lights are on for long periods the A/C has to run with them. Have you read the book that came with it?

probably a little bit of everything could be the problem but by adjusting a little bit of everything, you can easily adjust a set up that is more efficent and effective according to your grow standards (just like how you moved the ballast outside of the room). now you just gotta adjust your other equipment and you should be fine. if you don't want to buy fancy gadgets such as a bigger A/C unit, reflector heat shield, and etc to reduce the heat, you can also think about changing your grow hours from day to night. that is really gonna help you with the electric bill as well. you will definitely find the nighttime to be helpful if you have some big heat issue.

My On time is already at night..

My main Question is can your Portable A/C Run all the time, or does it cycle on and off every 10 minutes.. (Fan motor continues to run)

I think what it is, is that the unit has an auto shutoff when the coils are getting too cold. It will shut itself off before the system freezes up. So it may trying to work too hard. What might work better is get a window mounted unit that the coils hang out the back of the window. It's still air tight as it recirculates the air in the room, just gotta make sure that window is sealed like Fort Knox! =)

depends on what unit you have. Mine is set up on a thermostat and turns on when the temp reaches 76 and turns off when it reaches 71.
