possible lighting stress?

Hello all....I have a stupid newbie question.
Here's my situation: I have some 3 week old auto flowering sprouts under some 42 watt cfl's. I am wrapping up a grow in my closet under 400 watt HPS, currently on a 12/12 light cycle.
My question is: Would it be harmful or advantageous to put the sprouts under the high density light for the 12 hours it's available, and then move them under the CFL's for the other 12 hours?

I have about 2 weeks left on the current grow under the HPS, and I have the room to get the sprouts close to the light.

Thanks in advance for the input!

Umm Auto's on a 12/12 ?
I would keep them on the outside of the light pattern so it is not to intense, and I am thinking that if you use t-5 red on the last 2 weeks your buds would be full of Trichs.

No, no....I have no intention of putting my auto's on a 12/12. My question was if having them under crappy CFL light for 12 hours, then putting them under high intensity light for 12 hours would be stressful enough to cause issues such as hermies. Thank you though.

I don't think you would have an issue? Its just like the sun starting off behind a cloud then full sun at end of day. BUt I would do 10.5/10.5//4 Give her a break.

Ha, Golden Ganja I used to have that poster in my bedroom back in the 70's

Yea, moving them back and forth is cool just be sure not to blast them with the HPS
Under the floros they probably get about three to five thousand lumens and that HPS probably puts out ten times that amount.
