ok so im walking through home hardware and i find this bulb that looks like a normal incandescent bulb minus the powder white coating...i read the box and it says 200watts,no biggy there...but heres what caught my eye...its puts out 3850 lumens...could i use some of these on my plant?

-Clear incandescent
-200watt output
-3850 lumen output

Sure if you want heat problems and a high electric bill. Fluorescent or hid will give you about the same light, 3800 lumens, for only 40 watts of heat and electricity usage.

Well you might just have a heat lamp there. The lumens for a 200w florescent is something like 10,000 and HPS is 22,000 so it might not be worth the added heat and electricity.

i wouldnt get the incandescent, as stated there will be potential heat problems - besides, fluorescents are better for that sort of thing.

i was at home depot today and i found this long dual fluorescent thing for 8.99 that uses two t12 40watt tubes. the tubes were in a 2pack for 3.99 so i got the setup for a little over 13 bucks! i think my clones very much appreciate it, 3200 lumens per tube. of course its nothing like my 1000watt hps but its still an awesome investment.
