Wondering if there's a way to top or low stress train autos?? Want to increase my yields

I have not done autos until now. All my research and what others say, is no topping..but LST can work so long as it isn't radical and wont take too much time to recover. Here is the first auto I have going that I did LST on..

Check out the link here..https://www.rollitup.org/t/the-vault-comparative-grow-in-association-with-mephisto-genetics-heisenberg-special-autos.899759/page-53#post-12757757

If you go through the link for the comparative grow, @bertaluchi did one with supercropping that did very well, I just didnt have the guts to do it, but may try it next time. I think the key is to remember they are on a clock and it takes energy to recover that would normally be used for growing... you can always try the topping, or LST or Supercropping and let us know how it turned out

Some lst is fine. I wouldnt do much more than that since any stress on an auto will reflect in the total harvest.

I grow autos in some very odd/wouldnt think of kinda places. Like you would walk by it every day and never expect/see it. On certain occasions height is an issue so right before or immedietly when they show sex. I would pinch the top between the top nodes and the nodes under. I mean not pinch it off but kinda crush it between my fingers. Just enough to hear a crunch but not so much to where it cant support itself.

Doing this stunts the plant just enough fir me so it doesnt grow much higher and it realy starts stacking on the main cola.

Auto or not, some plants freak out when fucked with, some dont miss a beat.

When you grow a photo plant from seed, you have all the time in the world to experiment and learn it.
When you grow an auto from seed, since you cant tell how the plant will react to stress,it becomes a gamble of how much is too much so generally, lst is the "go to" solution for keeping that gamble down low.

For example, you can grow an auto, top it and get 4 zips, grow another auto the same way and get 1 zip all because the second auto gave you the finger after cutting its apical top.

Autos can be trained just like any plant, having a vigorous plant helps. Imo you need to take it on a plant by plant basis. A vigorous fast growing plant will tolerate more training but generally most autos tolerate training well. Just be mindful of your time limit, once you see pistils pop at nodes you have limited time to do things like topping or fims. They can be LST all the way through.

I have read in the Alaska post the best time to lst a photo is the 1st 3 wks of flower when they explode. I am doing one of my plants now 11-12 day of flower branching nice. This plant has grown over two ft in 10 days

Very interesting thread. I have an auto going now. I'm going to top it one time. Then depending how well it responds maybe FIM.
