Jus post the damn seed storage box before I crash this entire site and reach through the screen into your living room.. I'll take your whole seed collection and you'll be at square one, with only the ability to brag about your empty little second hand box.

you said beans as in cannabis genetics? Im talking about veggie and herb seeds. You plan on saving those til your old and grey ?they store long just in darkness at room temp. in my opinion i think i would do that if i were saving for the next generation til research discovers something new hopefully

i hav e a full size fridge in my base ment just for seeds, i bought a d ring binder and put the plastic see through zip close pages in it. each zip page/bag is labled by breeder, then list of strains in it on a sticky tape. i keep the binder in the fridge and if i keep pollen it goes in the above freezer with a silica packet in clear bead containers from wallmart..i also print the write up from each strain i buy, then put it in a seperate seed list binder seperated by, indica true breeds, sativa true breeds, indica dom true breeds, sativa dom true breeds, then indica, sativa, indica dom, sativa dom, hybrids.. i have well over 100 different strains, then at least 100 strains that i made myself by crossing 2 true breeds to make f1's or back crossing f1 seeds till they are stable, true breeds...
i have found, keeping seeds in fridge, even with silica and air tight containers, germination starts declining after 3 years and pollen in freezer only stays viable for 3-4 months so if im bx3ing i keep clones of the male going so viable pollen is available after each new batch of seeds is planted wile selecting the best female to pollenate...

were is the pic of seed storage container?? im always looking for a better way to keep all my seeds in a nice organized fashion..

Germination rates fall even quicker when your freezer goes out and you don't find out for a few months. I still have all my seeds, but the strains are lost, cause they won't pop.

I'm storing last year's seeds in snack bags of each plant's seeds. There are 11 of those, {along with my smoke notes} and they are wrapped around three or four of the silica packets and in a sandwich bag. That is in another bag, and so on and so on, then it is all in a freezer bag in a croker sack in the barn with most of my food plot seeds. So far they are popping at about 90%. I am lobbying the bosslady for another farm freezer, but it will go into a more used shed this time.
