Pot Size vs Plant Size

I was wondering if there was a general rule of thumb for your pot size. For example something like 1 foot plant = 1 gallon pot or something along those lines. Can anyone help me out? Im using 10 litre (2.6) pots at the mo and my plants are about a foot tall.

thanks, I was also wondering the size of pots to rock for some bigger plants so with this rule of thumb I'm looking at 5 gallon for 5 footers. p.s watch out that kitty looks like a mountain climber. lol.

i've got a plant in a one gallon pot and it's 4 an a half feet tall...don't know how the fuck it got that big but it really did lol

Is it bushy or kinda stretched looking?

mine are bushy bastards between 2 and 3 feet all in 12" diameter pots, maybe a little over a gallon in each

i was gonna transplant it but i don't want it to get any bigger..all i have is a 400w mh just for first time growin and that plant outgrew all the other ones..i have to have the light almost 2 feet from the other 2 because of the big one it's gay. buuut there's a shitload of bud on it but it's not getting much light
