Pot sizes for sog

Hey guys.

What pot sizes do you guys use for sogs and your yields..

I'm running 200mm pots sog pulling from 14-25 grams roughly..

I'm considering running 140mm pots for sog and by this I will be able to run more plants and may get better yields.

I got quite a bit of experience doing SOG using Sour Diesel. I've tried 3/4gal, 1gal and 2gal pots. 3/4 were pointless, 1 gal if you have no problems watering every day they worked good but you couldn't skimp out as they would wilt. 2 gal was perfect at it gave me two days before I had to water. I also use to run 49 per 4x4 area. I'll post picks later when I get home.

I’d like to see those pots. My two gallons are much bigger obviously as I can only hold half as many plants in same area as you and the pots all touch

According to your calculation..you are putting three plants per square foot. You’re not fitting 3 two gallon containers in a square foot unless you know some magic I don’t

You can put in 49 2 gal pots in a 5x5 area or 49 square 2gal pots in a 4x4 area. 4x4 gets a little tight. I didn't have a chance last night to dig the photos out but I'll see if I can dig them out from here as I posted them before.

3 of the 2 gallons in a square foot area..If I can imagine 7 rows of 7 plants making up 16 square feet..that would mean you use pots that are 7” x 7”. That’s just a lot shorter across and a lot deeper than any two gallon pot I’ve used

0 days veg. Straight to flower from rooted clone but doesn't work with many strains. Usually hybrids like Sour Diesel. This was 1000W HPS in an air cooled tube.

I’ve been struggling with different strains doing sog that way, do you hand water? Drip system or flood?..I like the 2 gallon pots as well

Hand water, I think it was about 750ml per 2gallon pot. If I watered at say 6pm Monday by Wed they were bone dry. You could bottom feed in a 4x4 flood and drain table or top feed.

I generally focus on hydroton flood and drain. With coco people talked of problems with deficiencies and other things so I’ve been doing drain to waste. I plan on having coco moms and auto flowers on tables. Trying to cut my work load down with handwatering. Didn’t have good experience with drippers

Drippers are easy, just get the ones that are pressure compensating and will drip at the same time or close enough.
