Potency and Organics

Alright check this out I acquired 2 out 3 seeds from a friend of mine from Colorado. Of those three, two areLavender and the other is a Blue Rhino. I am stoked to grow this herb as natural as I can to make sure they show their true beauty, they have some excellent genetics- if they're females, I might breed if I get a combo. So my question is, does any expierenced organic grower or someone who knows all the botanical alien language tell me a direct link towards organic compounds and an ungodly amount of resin or high TCH concentration, or maybe even possibly cannabanoids levels (ha thats crazy shit). I know it has to do with genetics, the environment, and things like molasses, C02 but I'm high and I'm curious. And if there is anyone that has grown Lavender or Blue Rhino got any tips, pics, whatever, let me know ha. And this is my first operation so any and all advice is appreciated. Hopefully I get some primo herb down the road.

I use Earth Juice organic fertilizer pack of Grow, Bloom, Catalyst, Microblast, and Hi-Brix
I've had amazing results with these

I use nothing but all natural compost on one of my plants... I can comfortably say... They like the chemically balanced nutrients way better!

I'll let you guess which one I used the compost on.

These are both the same age, to the day, follow identical lighting regimes, and are both the same strain.
The only difference is what I feed em!

Yes, the other difference is that one is LSTd (even though you cant clearly see the tiedowns) and the other is trained across the wires on the pot...

Doubt these factors would really affect the growth rate, so much as the direction in which growth happens.
Then again. I have never used anything like earth juice or any other commercial organic labelled fertilisers, so I can't comment on their effectiveness.

Just thought i'd throw in the uber-organic grow choice!

I've considered that and Humboldt for hydroponic grow which I have, but I'm going to use soil. I might clone some into hydro later on though.

I use organic soils: 1/3 happy frog, 1/3 black gold, and 1/3 of my friends 20 year-old compost.
In addition to the Earth Juice line, this soil combination has worked quite well for me

Christopher Walken~ First off I want to say, I love your acting.
I went from all FF line up to organics and I decided to use Auto's (first time) as my guinea pig and to get dialed in. I use FFOF and 15% perlite, Humboldts organic line up and nematodes (hee hee). Well the auto's I harvested are off the chart. Big yields 2-3 oz (closer to 2) Smell is strong, thc content is high and the trichs where everywhere. Now I still have 4 in bloom (see link below) and 2 of them in FFOF are so SMELLY and so full of TRICHS it's insane, and those are just organic auto's. I can hardley wait for my organic~ T.W. SLH, LA Con, The Church, Rock Lock. Here is a picture of them (not TW) last days of veg, all organic.

Hey man your plants are lookin great and I think you sold me on the fox farm ocean forest. I wasn't going to use them but you convinced me. I'm gonna make a nice compost tea and I think my babies will do great. And by the way keep me posted on The Church, I've wanted that strain for a year or two now I want to see what she looks like.

i got ragged for this by another member when i posted this last year, but fuck it, it worked for me. i put banana peels, apple peels, egg shells and coffee grounds at the bottom of one of my holes and grew some of the dankest shit i've smoked from a bag seed so.... take it for wat its worth, but that little recipe worked for me. and before everybody starts in w/ the "wat bout bugs, animals, etc." bullshit, just know that i now know from PERSONAL EXPERIENCE that if u make a hole at least 2 feet deep that bugs are not a problem!

My first few years I was all about organics; making my own soils, organic nutes, everything was au natural. I have switched to a blend of both worlds and the product is better, the plants are happier and I never have noticed a difference in the taste. If you want a better taste, a hakko will make more of a difference than any tea or soil mix. Grow both ways, make up your own mind which you like better. Good luck.

I will show you her in full bloom and harvest, my first one was 6 oz, this is a second grow of her. But I will have to tell you all about it later.

Alright sweet man thank you that's some legit advice. If you don't mind me asking what kind of mix (organic/other) do you use for hydro and soil if you do both. I'm going to experiment a lot and I'll learn on my own but any knowledge of the herb you'd like to pass on is greatly appreciated. Also since it seems you've already used teas and soil mixes could I ask what kind of teas n stuff you used and what made you switch to what you're doing now. Cause my seeds are starting to sprout right now and I'm making my desicions as what to feed them. By the way your purple urkle looks gorgeous.

Sweet dude, by that time my seedlings should (hopefully) be well on their way and I'll definantly keep a journal. They are beautiful strains, got a lot of backround to them.

I will test this one out forsure. It seems you're doing yours outside so I'll experiment with that next season but I might try to cook somethin up indoors. I would think letting all that compost would be better than just stickin it straight in but it still seems like a great idea. Worms never hurt either.

For hydro, I use the GH expert line which includes their synthetically derived nutrients and some trace elements. Included in their additives are natural compounds like fulvic acid and they have a vegan compost tea that my girls love. For dirt, I like Botanicare with their calmag, liquid karma, Hydroplex and sweet. You'll find organics and synthetics in both of these lines.

As far as teas and soil mixes go, I just didn't think they were worth the effort. I'd use bat guano, bone and blood meals, worm casings, fish meal, all that shiz. I stopped doing soil mixes with my peat-based sunshine mix #8 and started feeding a little more with the liquid ferts I mentioned above. I got bigger yields and my plants were healthier start to finish. The plants also responded better to the liquid ferts and I experienced faster growth. I'm not saying one is better than the next, but this was my experience and why I ended up away from 100% organics.

The Church...She is a very full plant from early veg. I had to clean up so many thin stems all through veg and first 4-5 weeks of flowering. Took the whole FF line up with flying colors. Fed her on the heavy side every watering and she sucked it up. Stayed healthy all the way through.
Once in flowering she went straight frosted, no waiting. Buds everywhere and semi dense, but not airy at all. It was thick and sugar coated so much that I use all the sugar leafs for awesome butter. You can have mad kief from just trimming her over glass. I scraped my glass and piled the kief on a bowl of Kush. Tasted awesome.
The stone is kinda heavy, not couchlock, very enjoyable. Taste is ok, don't really remember, had many strains.
The yield was over 6 oz.
