Potential problem

I'm new to the craft, but I'm not seeing the tell-tale signs of overfeeding. I had a buddy come over who's been growing for 30 years and he thinks it's because they're in late flower that they're leeching N.
I agree. I posted a few days ago. I'm 35 days into flower and posted about some yellowing leaves. Pollack responded with overferting. After a month of veg in only 50% ocean forest 50% promix, I was doubtful it was over ferting. That's his go to. Can't tell if he's trolling but his response prob applies 90% of the time so whatever. Lol.

You can't blame him, he has to be right some of the time - lol.

Just dont get in a hurry to harvest it im serious i think you still have several weeks of flower, get a good 60x jewelers loop and check the trichs regularly when the majority start to get clowdy and i mean majority 90% of them hell you may get a couple ambers then its ready to harvest, most of your pistols i.e. hairs will turn brow or red or amber. 1st mistake new growers make is they get anxious and harvest to early and get subpar weed, if you wait til all trichs are cloudy it will be at its most potent point. my gorilla glues is gonna have lots of buds lol cant wait to star flowerIMG_1056.JPG

Runbho, you forgot to mention that you added more fert to soil that already has fert and in your thread you mention your runoff EC as being well over 2.0. That's just your runoff. There's really no telling right now what's in your soil. When you measure runoff pH and EC, all that tells you is the value of the runoff. It doesn't really let you know what's in your soil. If you're going to make light of what I say, at least be accurate yourself please. If your runoff EC is high, then you probably have too much fert in your soil. But that's all that can be determined.

Sgrey, I considered the possibility that your plants were finishing and turning yellow, which I know is what this plant does as it dies. But what you have going on there isn't what I've see of that process. But I could be wrong. Maybe your plants are nearing the end and this is just normal. Either way, you want to avoid fertilizing as more fert won't make for a good finish now. If there is too much fert, this will get through more weeks like what tpc_mikey is talking about. If your plants finish in two weeks, you don't want to add more anyway. Just water when dry and let them die. If I'm wrong or right, it doesn't matter if the plants finish soon. If they die before they finish the way you want them to, then I was right. I hope this works out for you. I think mikey might be right about having a long flower time than you think. We'll see.

Hey Mikey, I was reading and the quality of the high is determined by the maturation of the trichomes, which is what you were saying. I'm not looking for a "I'm too stoned to do anything" kind of high, but rather the "I can function" kind of high. Would you still advise me to harvest them in 3-4 weeks? The advertised THC content was between 15-17%

I will definitely take your advice under consideration, Pollack - thank-you

THC is at its highest potency when the trichs are of the cloudy color, this also usually a very energetic uplifting high, if you wait until the trichs start to turn amber the THC leve is degraded and you get a couch lock type high, I like the energetic uplifting high i wanna smoke a joint and feel like going to do something not get planted in a chair and fall asleep. but yes I think your plant has a few weeks to go still just watch it carefully you are at that point where it can change rapidly, but waiting means you will get that much more bud off of your plants and effort, i would hope at this point you are just flushing them giving straight water, i have never done this but this is where some people will start adding some molasses or sugar lol to me i just flush with straight water.

I know your probably anxious and excited to harvest and show off and enjoy your new smoke but man dont rush it lol it will be so much better i pretty much accept the fact that when i plant a seed it will be a minimum of 5months before i get to enjoy what ive started, but if you take this plant when trichs are still clear its not gonna be very tasty or get ya very high jmo be patient and wait for 80 to 90% of trichs are cloudy or some call it milky and you will be overjoyed with the stone you get out of them.

I gave her one last shot of nutrients yesterday. I introduced a wee bit of a nutrient with high N to try and slow the yellowing process. From here on out, I will make sure to give her only water. I want you to know I appreciate all of the advice. I also have a jewelers loupe, but it's touGH seeing through it.

If you put that loop right up against your eye and then move your head towards what your looking at it gets easy to see you can also place that loop right up against your phone camera and take a pic that way as well hehe, sure wish you hadnt given more nutes i really dont think you needed them but oh well whats done is done, just going forward water every 3 or 4 days not sure how often you water not sure how your pots dry out im in clothe pots so its about ever 3rd day for me at the moment and sure it will shorten as root mass grows.

when you get a chance post some updated pictures want to compare them to the ones you originally posted zoom in on one of your main colas and take a good infocus picture we can usually zoom on that photo and see what your trichs are looking like
