Thanks for the compliments guys. Yesterday, some of my goodies came in so in the evening I took 11 clones from the SLH's. My hydro unit has 8 holes but if all 11 of these sprout roots I'll add another tube. I have them in the Gro-Clone with a tall dome over them. I dipped them in Clonex gel and when my quart of Clonex solution comes in I'll pour some in the water too. I cut away half of the leaves on most of the clones but I'm also keeping them misted very well. I've got a 4 tube T-5 a little less than 2' above them. They look very happy this morning; probably happy to get out of those crowded bushes. I got all the newly harvested girls trimmed and hanging up this morning. Not shown is a small bud that I have laying in the window sill. So there are 9 buds in all. Keep in mind that these are all autos and this is the whole plant, not just a small cola from a side branch. Also, I got some Organocide, an organic pesticide that is supposed to eliminate about 25 (including our list of hated bugs) different pests. It's effective for 2 weeks to a month, depending on how much rain you get. Also, you can use it right up til harvest; how cool is that! I saw the pro's using it on the movie "The Green Rush", a documentary about three growers in northern Cali. A very good movie but with a very sad ending for two of the families.

I know everyone likes bud porn but I don't have anything else at the moment. But there are some new developments. Yesterday I checked on two of my SLH's and they were starving!! The bottom leaves were yellowing and they were pretty wilted from the damn heat here. I hoofed it back to the house and whipped up two 2 gallon containers of water with a big slug of nutes, 3 different kinds and probably a lot stronger than I should have used. I added some Epsom Salts and some pH down also. Gave each one a full 2 gallon drink. The plants are only about 3' tall so that was a lot. Also, my Church that has been slowly dying was completely wilted. I watered her with pure water and this morning there had been no change. I thought about it a lot during the day and what I needed to do. My first thought was to dig it up but that just did not set well somehow. Then it crossed my mind how it had been so healthy and how I had treated it really good and could not get it any better at all. The fact that all the others had responded very well told me what I needed to know. I deduced that something was munching on the roots. I went out with my trimmers and touched the stalk and it nearly fell over. With just the slightest tug it came right up, almost no roots at all. I brought it to the house, washed the dirt off what was left of the little stub of a root and proceeded to snip off the very tops of each of the 4 main stalks. I trimmed off all the fan leaves, all the necrotic leaves, and all the lower leaf sites, leaving the 45 degree cut I made with the trimming shears - no sterilization, no splitting, no scraping, no scalpel. I put them into the neoprene discs and stuck them in the cloner with the 11 SLH's. I sprayed them down and put the dome back on. Actually, two of the stalks had more green on them so I took them as well; we'll see how that goes. Heck, we'll see how any of this goes! I went back out to the garden and dug up some of the soil where the plant had been - A DAMN FUNGUS GNAT!! That's all I needed to know. I suspected as much. I should take photos of the pitiful little things. But I have hope! I think I'm going to pour some gasoline on where the plant tomorrow; let the fungus gnats have a little drinkie winkie. I also dug up the two OCF's and put them in pots. I know they didn't like that in the least but you know, it's life. So I have them where I can keep a close eye on them. All the fan leaves had died on them and both of them are just packed with bud. I could chop them anytime and it would probably be pretty good but I'm going to wait and see how they respond to being dug up. I can always chop them and even if it's only a day or two longer, it will be better medicine. The kushes are doing wonderful; I over the top happy with them. One more thing: I decided to flip the 2 SLH and the 2 Maui Wowi. So they are in the dark; this is their 3rd night coming up. 10 weeks and I'll have some KILLER smoke!!

You ain't gonna believe this, the nearly dead plant that I took the clones from, this morning all the leaves were perked up and looking like they were waiting on breakfast!!! I nearly pissed my pants I was so happy. I didn't take a pic of it yesterday because I was in a hurry to get it in the cloner but here is a single shot of it. The ones in the center are the ones I took yesterday. Remember, the leaves were as limp as a dishrag, soft and as pliable as a rag. Even the two from lower on the stalk are doing great. I'm about to go out and water my other girls now.

I checked the two Orange Candy Floss plants that I dug up yesterday and decided to go ahead and chop them. The trichs are mostly all amber. There was one bud worm that had screwed up one bud so I chucked it, but there was plenty more. It was a really sticky job trimming these; I'm hoping they will be a lot better smoke than the autos. One strange thing is that these were sold as full season plants, no ruderalis. They have been budding for about 2 months; maybe it's because I started them early and they started budding before the spring equinox. And they were really short, only a little over a foot tall. One of them only had one cola; I think something ate the others off. But the other had two and two little nubs; it was well over twice the amount of bud than the single cola plant. Hats off (again) to Uncle Ben for the topping technique! I'm adding a photo of the two plants I chopped today.

One thing I've been noticing on one of my Kush plants is some white spots on the leaves. It does not appear to be hurting it but it can't be good. I gotta find out what that is.

OK, it's July 5th and I have more pix. I took some shots of my 2 rarely seen guerrilla grow girls; they are SLH's. One needed water so I gave her some. It looks like the order of the photos is messed up so ...the pic with two plants in it is of the guerrilla girls. The one with the droopy leaves (just needs a drink) is a SLH also. The bud shot is Power Kush. The "grove" are all kushes, Power, 2 Hindu and a Bubba. Looks like the kushes are going to be well into flower before the SLH's even start. My two containerized SLH's were getting heat stress so I'm keeping them and the 2 Maui Wowi's under the lights, on a 12/12 timer.

I took 8 of the clones out of the cloner and put them in the Stinkbud 9000 hydro unit. I plugged in my HPS and there was a "pop", and a stinky smell coming from the ballast. Don't know what the deal is but I guess I'll be buying a new ballast to go with my new reflector. Crap, it's always something. I'll take some pix later and post them.

Sucks about your ballast. I had to get a new bulb when I set my stuff up, it ran for a little while then burnt out. Faulty bulb I guess, because the replacement I got was the exact same one and it worked nicely.

Some of the clones did not like coming out of the cloner so I put 5 of them back in there for another couple of days. Also, ham-fisted me broke off the largest root segment from one of the clones. The Maui Wowi and Super Lemon Haze are all 4 budding now; I'm totally stoked about that. The kushes are all filling out nicely. I had to go out of town for a couple of days last week and didn't get back until after dark so it was 3 days between waterings. I had quite of few yellow and brown leaves because of that; the kushes love a lot of water and one of the SLH does too; I have to water them at least every other day and each plant takes about a gallon a day.

Is your ballast that cooked itself magnetic or electronic? Magnetic ballasts have individual components that can be swapped, and very easily too. Hydro stores should have the parts, but an actual lighting supply will have them cheap.

It's a magnetic. A couple of months ago I rewired a funny looking plug. I had no idea it was 240v until I read on the breaker box: "freezer". Yeah, I fried it good and it caught on fire. I also fried a nice fan too, trying to get the smoke out of the room. I gotta tell ya, when you plug a 110v fan into a 220v recep, it goes really fast, LOL! I took it apart and the guy at the hydro store told me that 95% of the time it's a burned out capacitor, so I bought one. I bought an awesome new reflector, with a glass bottom and 6" flanges, 95% reflective German aluminum, blah, blah, blah and hooked it up, plugged it in and "pftzzzzzzz", gone. I am so pissed; another $35 down the drain and still no HPS light. So I'm tossing the old ballast and buying a new one. Sometimes you just gotta stop throwing good money on top of bad money.

Been sampling some of my goodies but none of them are as good as the MTF I grew last year and I'm down to about 3 more bowls of that. I had one plant that had purple buds so I kept them separate, thinking they might be something special. Ha! I barely got off on them; total schwag. The Orange Candy Floss has an amazing flavor, especially on the exhale. It leaves almost a pine needle taste on your tongue. The high is nothing to write home about but then it's been slightly less than 3 weeks since I chopped it. From what I've heard, it takes a minimum of 3 weeks curing before you get the real benefit from the medicine. The green buds seem to be slightly better than the purple ones but still very midi.

I have 8 new SLH in the hydro unit from clones. I have 2 more in the clone machine that also have roots and I need to do something with them. One strange thing I found this morning is that one of the clones I had taken had started developing roots above the neoprene collar!! There was no rooting hormone applied to it and the part that I did apply Clonex to was in the water. I also added Clonex solution to the water. So I snipped off the bottom, down to the node, and put the die-hard little girl back into the cloner where she can drink up some nutes.

I have 4 SLH outside and 2 inside under the lights and all are doing great. I also have 2 Maui Wowi inside. I have 2 Hindu Kushes, 1 Power Kush and 1 Bubba Kush outside and they are doing awesome!! The kushes are between 4-5' tall and budding like crazy, the Power Kush is getting huge calaxes. These girls would have grown to 10' I'm sure had it not gotten so damn hot here. Also, the Maui Wowi would have loved the outside too. The SLH is very sensitive to the heat; they stop growing when the temps hit about 85 F. The 4 inside are now getting loaded with little buds all over and I'm very happy to see that. Maybe soon I will have some first class smoke!!
