I took out about 7 clones that had died and TOPPED two of my tallest plants. They have only had one night of 12/12 so I figured what the heck, I can't let them get too much taller in my cabinet; it won't allow it. So I took the big center one and two side branches from two plants and one from another plant at the base. I had prepped peat pellets, dropped them into 2" net pots and had a neoprene collar ready. I cut and trimmed the clones, gelled them up and plugged them in the aero unit and sprayed the tops good a few times throughout the day. They will have to be on their own til Monday. I didn't put a clone dome on them; it's nice and warm in the cabinet and fairly well sealed. They are getting warmth from the water below.

hey potpimp im sorry to hear your canning your aero unit, i am also going to be canning mine, well im going to convert it to a veg unit for my SD and WW mamas.
I have went back to the tried and true peat pellets with a tray, here look at my tray and some clones i took last week.
this is the under the bed style of tray i am using

and clones that are going to make it, and all i do is mist once a day

and once these root up you can drop them in an a aero unit or any other hydro unit because the root mass will protect the peat pellet from breaking down, or transplant to soil in larger pot. and i here you have a stealth issue so go get yourself one of those 10 unit peat pellet starter trays with dome an all for like 8$ the tray with dome is like 4wx6lx6h its pretty small but could hold 6-8 clones im sure.

btw, new bud porn on my journal ISS at 8wks!

because you are using sorry ass shit...bros....all please listen up, this cloning in a mister system works so easy its ridiculous, don't give up, give this method a try, the last try

-buy the stuff to make the aero cloner, including a 15 minute incremental timer for 15 on and 15 off.

-buy rhizotonic and dip-n-grow

-mix your solution at 4ml/gal Rhizo and 1 eye drop/gal of dip-n-grow (straight from the bottle not diluted) in your res..USE TAP WATER

-use an PH meter that constantly monitors PH, don't use strips or the liquid drip

-use net pots and neoprene only, nothing else!!

-get a glass of water PH it to 5.5 to 5.8, use water from the faucet in between cold and warm, not cold and hot...so turn it 1/4th the way towads hot from cold!

-get your dip and grow ready according to the instructions for soft plants...this dip hormone is liquid not crappy gel

-take your cuttings FROM THE BOTTOM BRANCHES, cuttings with 3 nodes are best, length of cutting or girth does not matter THIS IS NOT A PENIS SIZE MATCH, just try to have an even capone of clones

-after taking a cutting, splice it up the middle about 1 inch from where you cut of the cutting, DO NOT REMOVE THE OUTTER LAYER BY SCRAPING, DO NOT CLIP LEAVES TO MAKE THE SHORTER, JUST CUT UP THE MIDDLE to expose the center, this allows for more surface area for roots to grow

-do this for as many cuttings as you need immediately putting them in the glass of water until you are finished taking all cuttings

-dip one cutting at a time into the DIP-N-GROW solution you pre-made for 15 seconds. Put it in the neoprene collar and net pot then insert into your res.

-once they are all in the res, turn on your system with lights 4-6" away from tops(florescents only, HID is a waste of time and money for clones) light should stay on 24/7..

-Adjust PH to 5.5 and let it be until it gets to 6.0 then put it back down to 5.5 (AERO LIKES LOWER PH THAN NORMAL HYDRO a.k.a DWC)

-use a humidifier for best results, try not to use a sorry as humidity dome, that causes extra heat, you don't want the top of you plant warm, you want the res warm, and buy have the pump in your res come on every other 15 minutes it will get plenty warm

THIS WILL NOT FAIL, TRUST BOBBY....im mean sheesh, look at my AERO LED SOUR DISEL grow in my sig, proof!

I'll have to do this on my next grow which will be Hindu Kush but I will definitely give this method a shot. If it works, my G/F will owe you a BJ. :) I would post new pix but they pretty much look like they did in the last pix but with fewer lower branches and two of them are now topped. I was scraping the outside, not splitting the end and ...hell I tried everything but pissing on them. I really appreciate your efforts.

bobby, really you just made cloning in aero sound freaking complicated as hell, as well as expensive too, both of those products you mention, as well as the hygorzome or whatever is like 40$ each!! plus the meters and the solutions add up. Yes it works when dialed in but after 2months im not spending more to make it work, in fact im spending less now that i went back to peat pellets. with less work to make it happen, and in my tray i can clone up to 100 babies when the mama's get there. Im not knocking ya, im going to try again this summer with the aero cloner but for now im sticking with what works, with less work from me and for less money!

lol, to each his own...there are many methods which work, which one works for you is key to success
Now that's a mouthful. Just proves why I have MH, HPS, CFL's, T5's, and LED's, Advanced Nutrients organic line, 3 part line, supplements, General Hydroponics full line, Botanica, and Ionic. Man the hydro store loves seeing me come in; they know I'm gonna drop some cash.

the problem with your aero cloner is something more. What color tub are you using and top? What are your water temps? What pump time incriment are you using? How did you wash the system before use? Did you glue or just push the fittings together? What kind of light did you put over them?

I made my aero cloner a few months ago and have had 100% with not one additive just plain well water. It took a little longer than should on mine cause of my cold house. After I moved the cloner to a warmer room and added a submersiable fishtank heater set to 70f. not one single plant I put in died. I even did some hard to clone house plants, all lived and rooted. let me know what all of these variables you did and I might be able to help.

yea andy i know is something, the funny thing is when i first made the cloner i had to keep it at a friends who kept the ac on all the time, well they rooted up in less than a week over there!! shut it down yesterday but while i was out getting supplies for the herb dryer i saw really dark blue tubs and picked a couple so when i try the cloner out again maybe the darker tub will help. a fish tank warmer you say i may have to get one of those as well, i think my rez water was too chilly but not so chilly to damage

I said I was going to go all the way with the LED's and not use the HPS but I had to take out the LED's and pack them up. I moved the T5's to be side lighting and hung the 400w HPS; I think the girls are very happy with it. It's not that I wanted to do it; I have to. Here's pix of today. Man is it smelling gooooooood in that cabinet!! There are preflowers everywhere. I removed all the smaller ones trying to form on down the stalk; I only want big colas and branches that I have to prop up. I did damage one big branch when I was hanging the T5's but these things are very resilliant.

I was waiting to see what your grow would look like flowering with LEDs, oh well.
Do you think switching lights is what made the buds finally show up?
