pimp, do you think that if your water sched was 15 on 15 off you would get a lower res temp and still have the roots not dry out??

Hmmmm... I'm not sure that a degree or two would make any difference in the drying time for the roots. From what I've read, it's essential that the roots get a periodical drying out. I finally got this timer figured out; the ON cycle setting is in seconds / minutes and the OFF cycle is in minutes / hours. Who needs to read the instructions, right? I have it set for 35 seconds on and 10 minutes off. I just pulled one up after about 8 minutes and it's pretty dry, moist but not wet or completely dry. Actually it's pretty humid in the top rez so drying out completely would probably take awhile. I think this might be about the right setting.

They are just popping the 7th node so only one more node to go until I can micro sex them. Hopefully most will be girls and I can start taking clones. I gave them all a good trimming yesterday, snipping off all the necrotic fan leaves and parts. Looks like I'm getting a head start on the lollipopping, LOL. I'm so excited about my little cloner I don't know what to do. I can hardly wait til I get to take some clones and put them in there!

Whats goin on Pimp? I got some pics of a similar setup I'm running for you. This pic is the roots on a Master Kush clone. Keep in mind my white widows in with it were approx. same root size cloned in a humidity dome until sign of roots under a single 24watt cfl for one week with a heat pad.

Kush roots day 5 from clone, Dec 4th:

Kush clone day 5 from cutting

25 site clone/veg unit Dec4 under 1000W HPS 2 Master Kush, 7 Afghan, 16 White Widow

2 Weeks Later Dec 18th, just awesome:

These results sold me on changing over exclusively to hydro minus 1 of each mom.

OMG, ...how did you get the top of your rez to levitate? :o Beautiful grow man. So the Kush is outgrowing the WW? I've also got some Hindu Kush (Nirvana) seeds.

Naw the WW is outgrowing the kush at the moment. The WW is outgrowing the soil WW hands down. The hydro ones will catch up to older soil ones within the next 2 weeks I'm sure. That right ppl, month old hydro as big or bigger than 2 month old soil plants, mark my words. Will post pics in 2 weeks ;)

i believe you no doubt, i started a rockwool clone in soil at the same time i germinated WW seeds. the clone was about 6 inches tall. The clone is now about 20" tall plus or minues and my tallest HYDRO WW plant is over 22" tall, remember i started my WW from SEED, basically at day 30 i was equal or greater than my clone in soil, im sure if i had went with seed in soil i'd be at about 10-15" inches, and thats a gracious estimate

but hands down my DWC is not comparision to AERO, or hybrid aero....i can't wait to setup my aero system...:weed:

I did a bag soil grow last year (blueberry) and a rockwool grow (big bud). They both performed about the same and I was happy for them just to have survived my "care". This hydro setup is the ticket man!

Hi pimp,

sry to always ask the same shit over and over, I get lost in this site and forget the details of each thread, it is so VAAAAAAAAAAAAAST!!

What was your plan now?

You were gonna take some cuttings and then sex your plants?
So you will be putting them into the stinkbud aero system soon?

I"ve got 7 nodes showing on at least one plant and by Monday I will have 8 showing. At that point I can micro-sex my plants, weed out the males, clone the females (I was going to lollipop them anyway) and put them straight into flower. I figure it will take about a month to finish them and by that time the clones will need to come out of the veg unit. I'll only keep them in the cloner til the roots hit the water.

BTW, changed my rez water yesterday for the first time since starting over a month ago. The water was pretty stinky smelling, like rotting wood or something. I didn't know how much water I had so I just "guestimated" the nutes, measured the TDS, came up to 476 so I added another slug which brought it up to 1000. That might be a little strong but I'll leave it there til Monday and keep a close eye on them. I want to know just how much nutes they can take anyway. I have "lost" my pH down AGAIN. So it looks like I'll be spending the day hunting for that.

Hey Pimp,

I cut today so I will be moving my vegging girls up. Your timeline sure sounds shorter than mine.
As it is with my drip system I cut every two months and get 2 or 3 ozs. Whats yours like?

Since I have a shit load of rockwool cubes I will tweak my setup from a drip to ebb an flow this flower
to see if I can increase yeld but after watching your bubbler I think I am going to make some other changes.

I'm thinking of making four of those nft systems of stinkbuds. But more along the size you made.
If I make four and use quick connectors I am thinking I can make two for veg and two for flower
then when its time to move them to flower I can just move the modules.

The thing I am not sure about is the distance from the first plants roots to the drain. By having the
plant so close to the end will it plug the drain or not.

Cant wait to see yours up and running.

PS. good luck finding your ph down.

TY Cruzer! I haven't cut any plants yet; this is my first grow with this system. I changed out my rez water Friday evening, came in this morning and the plants have grown about 25% taller!!!!! I'm going to change out my rez water ever week or no more than every two weeks!! I think I may use less water and do it more often. I'm using Ionic nutes so it's simple and cheap. I did find my pH down; I had put it in with some of the other stuff. I'm using Advanced Nutrients and it's in one of their standard shape containers, not a tall, round container like I was looking for. I got some buffer solution (7.0) but my meter is not calibrating on it for some reason; it says "use 7.0" then it reads "10". Go figure.

Here are the latest shots from this morning. I raised the lights to 4" above the canopy Friday, came in this morning and they are INTO the canopy!! They are looking so happy too. I tried micro-sexing them since they are now showing the 8th node. I posted some close-up pix on Earls thread to see if he can confirm they are ALL girls. :) I am anxious to cut some clones and get another batch going. I've already got the water with Jumpstart in it in my cloner.

I think in Stinkbuds system spaces the first pot a little bit so its not so close to the res. and gives the roots some room.

Hey pimp, your plants look great but is something going on with the light on one side? It seems like the ones on the right are growing much faster than the ones on the left.

That was just the angle of the pic. Here's a straight-on shot from this morning. The plant in the middle has passed the others like crazy but I think I see little nutsacs forming in the crotch of the 8th node. Looks like it's going to be next week until I can take the clones. One of the plants is a real shortie; probably not going to clone it even if it's a girl. But I might take one or two just in case it turns out to be a tiny little plant with 4 oz of bud, LOL. I don't know what's up with the pic being sideways; it shows it being right in my album.

Yeah, it must have been the camera angle and that lazy plant on the left that makes it look like one side is growing faster.

Hey Pimp,

Boy did they ever bounce back!
And that last pic was almost a week ago.
Nice job.

My girls are freezing there tits off. I came home today and found there nighttime temp has been in the low 50s and we got a few colder months ahead. I gotta warm them up when the light is off or this batch will stretch like crazy.

Isn't it about time you cut and sexed them?
Or are you just going to wait so you can get some pollen?

How right you are Cruzer!! I did that just yesterday but didn't have my camera. Here are the pix from today. Not only did I take the clones but I also transferred them to the flowering unit, the Binford Tools Stinkbud 9000.

Here are the clones I took yesterday. I numbered each plant because I'm still not 100% sure about the sex of them so I'm not taking any chances on growing a bunch of male clones. I did each plant one at the time, took the clones, dunked them in water, cut the angle on the end, scraped off the hard skin, dipped it in RooTech cloning gel, put them in the neoprene colars and into the aero cloner it went. Each one is numbered so I know which mom I took it from.

I'm using a Nutramist fogger for true aeroponic feeding. I added a good slug of Advanced Nutrients "Jumpstart" and a little A.N. pH down and fired it up. It gives off a real nice fog.
