Hi folks,

I have some Powdery Mildew on one of my plants and I was wondering what effect it would have on my plants, other than reduced yield?

I am 7 weeks into flower - :blsmoke:

I'm in Southern California.

Your plants sound like mine, except it is really just on my 2 O.G.'s, but mainly on one of them.

I have it under control, but I am wondering if it has any effect on the Bud. I don't have it on my Bud, just lower leaves, but was just wondering.

About a week to harvest. :weed:

Dude my whole grow room is infested with this crap. I've tried everything, nothing gets rid of it. I've been sulfer burning, using fungacides, and even still the fuckers are everywhere. I'm out of ideas. I hope i can just harvest and cure no problem. But who knows.

i lost 1/2 my my last crop due to powdery mildew. most of it was my fault. you should be fine with only a few weeks left. but i would remove the infected leaves. and definatly sterilize the grow room after havest.

Hey ripe fruit,

Did it just reduce your yield?

I used Physan 20 early in the grow to knock it out, it really works. But you probably don't want to use it during flower. I took my Air Cooled Hood out for a few weeks also.

It has been really cold and humid here lately and I didn't expect it to get like this. I have re-routed my warm exhaust from the light, back into the grow box. I now have higher temps and lower humidity. It actually dried all of my mildewed leaves, making it easy to see what's effected. The heat and low humidity should keep it at bay.

I also sprayed the plant with vinegar and water, which kills the mildew on contact.

1 week left :bigjoint:

If i wanted to use vinegar and water 4 weeks into flowering would that be ok you think? and what would i use like 1/4th part vinegar and 3/4ths water? and what type of vinegar did you use ? thanks gold + rep

Yea that sounds right, if you can raise the temp and lower the humidity you will be golden. bongsmilie

I had powdered mildew, and was able to harvest. I bought some stuff from home depot that worked, but you have to use it every 3 days or so. Once I trimmed the finished product, you cant really even tell i had a PM probalem.

I flushed the plants, And i trimmed alot of the lower branches.
I think that will help stop the powdery mildew although its not bad now i think the air flow will help alot and i dont know if flushes help but i decided to do that also, and then i lowered my fan that sucks air out so maybe ill let it get to 83 degrees or so for a day as it usually sits at 78 to 80. What do you think should this help ? I figure it cant be bad and ill check it the next few days to see if it slowed it down or stoped it completly maybe..
what do you think ?

Dont listen to this guy. PM can cause lung infections. THe nature of a mycellium network means that depending on what other substances are around biologically, the mildew can be poisionous. Do not smoke bud with pm.
