I have a homemade DWC and am 3 1/2 weeks in flower. Why would ppm get lower every day and the water level stay the same?

Ok thanks for being a smart ass, I thought the nute fairy was stealling it. Until about a 2 weeks ago or so the water and nutes were going down in equal amounts keeping the ppm about the same, now the water is not going down at all, just the ppm. What a dick

the nute fairy strikes again.
some clever editing would make that a pretty funny sig:

How big is your res and how many plants of what size do you have...????

A res that is too small will see the water being used faster than the nutrients... hence the PPM will increase...

A res that is too big will see the nutes being used faster than the water...

A res that is just the right size will remain at a constant balance and the PPM wil remain the same..

It basically means your nutes are a little on the low side (ppm), which isn't bad unless they are way too low. You'll just need to do water changes more often so they aren't starving for food. If the ppms are rising as the water level lowers you are putting it too high to start with. The plants take what they need. Here's a trick I've found over the years. If you find that correct level of ppms where the water level drops and the ppms stay the same you've hit the perfect amount of nutes for that plant in that stage of development. Work on finding the perect strength for your nutient solution and you'll be rewarded with more consistant nute levels and happier plants. Some people love to blast nutes but it's not about how much they can take, it's about how much they want.
