PPM/Nute Question

Hey everyone. I got a PPM meter and when I test my "feeding water" it seems I am way off mark as to what's expected for mid bloom ppm amounts in regards to my ferts (Dyna-Gro Bloom) . It should be around the 1000 mark and when I follow the directions on the label (1/4 tsp/ gal) i get a PPM of 300... What is up? WHat do i do to "correct" this? PPM is the amount of dissolved solids (fertilizer) in the water correct? do I just keep adding the Nutes until I have reached the recommended PPM mark? I am really afraid of burning my girls. Please some advise would be so great right now. Thanks so much

Cheers.

Thanks much. The meter was guaranteed to be calibrated out of the box... but i would like to do this. I know they have those calibration pouches. Unfortunately I didn't get one. Is there a DIY (at home) means of doing this? Ill look into it. Thanks.
Cheers

don't know bout diy, but calibration solution is cheap. Just pick some up and you'll know 100% without a doubt that the meter is accurate. Your meter will include info on the type needed.
