Only noobs use ppm; I suggest you use EC because it is more accurate and precise.

I've been doing a SOG in hydroton on an E & F table and I've kept my EC between .7 and .8 the whole time. ;-) I change the res every week.

well..... it's my freind's question and yes he's a noob at it. I personally am a dirt-bag when growing weed. it may take longer, but no hassles!!! Thanks!

hey user friendly. those ec levels seem awfully low during all stages of growth. (bear with me, i'm gaining a good bit of knowledge but still waiting first hydro grow, so no offense:) dutch master site for example recomends 1.0 for first week of growth, and ending at 2.5 for growth at 3/4 strength. i guess it could depend on what type of nutes your using. in any case, you have more experience than me, like i siad, still learning. peace

Well... I dont know if im doing something wrong BUT.... My plant is in Veg and is growing like a FREAK with 3200PPM Nutes (genral Hydro) and will steady rise to 4000-4100 daily. I put water in the tank everyday to get it back down to 3000-3200ppm and check the PH and it usually stays at 6.0-6.2 w/ NO Acid being added. Prob Because of the buffer in the nutes.

Have had NO burn yet! Cept when the Light fell on it a week back.

I am getting better results on the lower end, and saving more money too. Nutes are only as good as other enviro conditions allow the plant to use them. So Lighting/co2 would allow you to use more nutes well, whereas you might be wasting them if you don't have great conditions anyways.
