THE WATER IM PUTTING IN MY RES. IS 55 PPM AFTER I ADJUST PH TO 5.5. I CAN CHECK IT IN 4 HOURS AND ITS INCREASED TO OVER 1000 PPM WITH OUT PUTTING ANY NUTES. IN THATS JUST THE PURE WATER I PUT IN BEFORE AT 55 PPM ?? HOW IS IT INCREASING, SYSTEM CONSIST OF 2 FULL 2 1/2 FT. FEMALES 3 1/2 WEEKS INTO BLOOM UNDER A 400WT HPS GOOD VENTILATION AND CO2 , VERY HEALTHY LOOKING PLANTS, PLEASE HELP I NEED TO FEED NUTE'S BUT DONT WANT A TOXIC PPM LEVEL ?

wow how does the ppm's do when you add nutes to the water,ph it and then check in a while in that order dont know why it would jump like that i use tap water at 150-160 ppm at start at 7 ph then when i add nutes and ph after it doesnt raise

sounds like your meter is fucked up. There is no way the water is going from 55 to 1000ppm without any external influences. Is there heavy buildup in your reservoir that is diluting into the water or something?

i have a brand new hanna meter that reads solid and accurite for everything else i test, could the bubbles from my airstone effect it. the res. is clean i change it out once a week

Are you checking it in your reservoir while the bubbles are on ??? You should take a empty cup dip it in the reservoir and check that way.

Ok finally figured it out !! If any one encounters this problem what your going to need to do is cut some of the root system out,( in an aerogarden res there is just not enough room for big root systems ) flush remaining root system good with clean ro h20, basically there was so much root mass it was acting like a sponge and holding all my old nutes in so when i would do a h20 changs with h20 that was 50 ppm it would flush the roots and spike it up to 1200-1500 ppm, now im maintaining a manageable ppm,, thanks for all your comments though

you realize the aerogarden res is 1 gal. ( very small ) the root system is growing out of the res. and can only hold a little over a 1/2 gal. of h20 with that much root system in there. so what other (stupid) choice is there

just keep takeing and adding water as it circulates cutting the roots will hurt the planr worse than cutting the main stim!!!!

Transplant them into a real garden? If your roots are outgrowing your system you have a shitty designed system.

this fuck head always has some shit to say but is mostly correct but there is a nicer way to say it like you could have built hempy buckets for a 1/4 the price and not had this problem or even a dwc setup. J-Freak u better b a Marine

if you CAN read ( ITS AN AEROGARDEN ) you jackass i didnt design it. i have a real DWC this was an experiment in the aerogarden, i didnt think they would get this big, so thats what they are in,thats where there staying so now i have to deal with it, and the bottom line is that the root systems of 2 3 ft plants are just to much for the 1gal res of the (AEROGARDEN). after trimming the root system down there doing much better and have no signs of stress !!

you could of just kept flushing... it would eventually dilute out. this is what most do the last week or so on hydro systems to try and keep the chemical flavors out

I never said you designed a shitty system. I said it's a shitty system but you know that now don't you?

Wow, no stress, but your yield was hurt. Sorry you bought a bad system. Take what you know and get a better one or make one for a few bucks.
