*Problems with Strong CFL. *Help*

So I just started a new grow and my lighting is wack yet again. I am trying to use (6) 42 Watt bulbs but for some reason the 42 Watt bulbs won't work in any fixture I put them in. To test the fixture I put in 60 Watt regular bulbs and they work just fine. I read online somewhere that the 42 Watt or above may not include a ballast. Does anyone have any ideas how to wire a ballast to six lights or do I need a ballast for each bulb? Is there an easy way of getting these bulbs to work? Any help is very much appreciated. I have to get something rolling with these lights soon as my crop is currently under 3x 23 watt CFL's. (Which isn't enough lol). Thanks guys.

Electricity - If you don't know what you're doing...don't do it.

Look on the package the bulbs came in, Google the part number/description and find out that way what ballast you might need.

you probably bought Brinks home security cfls from walmart.... first larger cfls are a bad investment to grow pot with... use smaller cfls... the ones you bought need a $25 ballast. buy a box or 2 of 23 watt daylight cfls and some Y splitters...

i agree with the smaller cfl's against the bigger ones, when my 55's and 42 burn out then that is it for them. i believe the 23's are the best cfl's to use.

the big bulbs are not as good as people think, use a bunch of 23's and you'll do well. i'll tell it to you straight a few small hids or leds will put the cfl's to shame. cfl's are soon to be a thing of the past. peace
