Hello all,
Here are some pics of my progress to date with some random seed started on 4/1/2013. Let me know of what you think. Also, I'm trying to get a gauge on when to harvest...I'm beginning to see some orange hairs on some buds randomly so if anybody could advise it would be appreciated.

They look about 3-4 weeks in to bloom, so probably 4-5 weeks before harvest. You may want to get them closer to the light. It should be good stuff when finished.

Thank you Bud, I greatly appreciated your input. I have grown before but I think I may have harvested my last lot too early so I do not think I achieved fully grown plants. So roughly another month at this point then. Sweet!! I enjoy watching them grow!

Thank you 1st! As you can see from my reply to Bud I was never sure on exactly when to even consider the harvest and pretty much smoked the buds when they looked good to me, which the pics I posted were roughly around the same age. Will I see more height or will the buds just fill in more?

They will pack on the most weight in the last few weeks of their life cycle. Best way to know for sure, is to get a scope and look at the Trichomes. I usually shoot for around 10-15% amber. Here is a little help.

actually peak potency is when 20-30% of trichs are cloudy, the rest is clear. trichome heads and calyxes are swollen. check on my slh grow in sig. 12th page, 119 post. remember amber trichs = thc degradation into cbn

so you started it april 1, did you start it on 12/12 lighting schedule? isnt 8 weeks a lil early to be budding already?
or what if not 12/ 12 what schedule what kinda schedule? and do you know exactly when it started budding?
im about to start my first indoor crop so just trying to get the time frame down. i will prolly use a 600w HPS but im going to be doing 6-12 plants to start
as i knewly became a CG. your doing that Hydro right so no soil recommondations?

Hello Ambedexteras, When I started I was running 18/6 under 250 Watt ballast. I would have to say that I switched to the 12/12 cycle around the 5th week mostly due to space constraints (my largest plant was starting to grow into the ballast) Essentially from what I have read for most indoor grows with space constraints you can switch when the plants reach around 18 to 24"(which is what I have done) My system is a small hydro system capable of 6 decent sized plants. As for fertilizers I use Flora nova bloom and grow with Botanicare Pure blend tea as a supplement during the Grow phase and I have switched to Kool Bloom during the bud phase as a supplement, which so far seems to be working for me. If I had the space I would try to incorporate a SOG type system that way I could incorporate a metal halide light or some high powered fluorescents for the Veg stage. As for when the budding starts it is noticeable after about 10 days after your switch to 12/12, just make sure during this switch that no light gets into your grow area after the lights go out. I hope this helps out.

thanks for the info about the 10 days after changing light schedule thats the kinda stuff im talking about.
like i said my plan is to have a 600W HPS with a ballast where i can control out put, keep it @ 75% for veg and 100% for flower.
i will have a tent so i should be able to zip up and keep light out, and hopefully can do like 10-14 plants under one light

sounds possible, make sure you have a decent fan and vent system. Lot of air will help them to grow as well and you may want to consider some type of odor control. What method of grow are you trying soil or hydro?

LOL It's all good as long as you have something to smoke in the end. If you can post some progress pics when you get in full swing.
