So much different info. Some say 8inch some say 5 node some say no less than 12". I am growing Critcal Mass in soil indoors.

I concur with Harley on T-cat. I went to him for advice when I switched from Scrogging to Sogging. (Somewhere in my head thinks that sounds like caveman for sex).
I grow single colas now, how T-cat explained it to me, and they are single colas with minimal but present side branching.... so not single I guess, but close without effort. Perfect for a perpetual, and I’m enjoying the pace of the cycle.

Trying it yourself will give you more knowledge than 100 anecdotes from growers over the world. Just flower clones small and if they branch you cut those suckers off. Just like a tomato plant (if you grow up a trellis like me)
I throw mine in between 6-12” and just deal with the results. For me, perfection is keeping the fresh rooted clone a good distance from

That sounds interesting. How big of a table and how many lights do you need for that? What about the pace? Do you harvest every month or every couple weeks?

I end up cropping every 4-5 weeks. I have two spaces about 10 square feet each with a 600 HPS each space.

Thank you. How many plants in that 10 sq ft? What size pots? Are they indicas? I am actually set up to do this. I already have a couple 3x3 flood tables and lots of 600 Hps (my favorite).

I use 2.5 gallon square pots, touching the other pots on the top edge. My plant count varies. I do hybrids of all sorts, with a mild Sativa leaning Tangie, and five indica leaning strains.
Below pic is (Edit:more or less) final height and 4 weeks into flower cycle.

Thank you. Also I am growing in Promix HP Mycorrhizae it's my first time. Any tips? I have it under 400W LED Aglex 2000w and in 1 gal pots.

My yield varies between 3/4-1.5 zips per. I’m dialling things in a lot better than last year.

Please teach me your ways. If I could get 1.5 off one plant consistently it is my goal. Do you have a grow journal on these single cola beauties?

No I don’t have the time for journals on this site anymore. All I can say, is just keep your plants healthy, large enough to produce your target weight, and cared for enough they can produce it. Choose a grow style that meets your needs and focus most of your attention on building your grow environment to meet lighting, temperature, humidity and airflow needs. Lots of reading. Lots of doing.

I'm so glad I found this discussion. I needed entertainment and drama far more than I needed information on how to induce single cola growth behavior. Seems like many living beings grow in only one direction and it'as not always the right one.

I’m wondering if I top a plant 2 times for 4 main tops, then I continue veg for a week or 2 to get it nice and bushy , then prune all bud sites besides 1, would all the energy from the giant canopy be directed towards the single cola that would be left ? Hmmmm
