The best weapon you can legally carry around with you these days has to be dogs, the larger and more muscle-developed the better. My dog is a large boxer, 29" from flank to foot, and if you know about this breed you'll know that he's a big un. Pure white and will take your hand off if you tried to stroke him. I walk him regularly around the area and despite the many burglaries in my area my flat has never been touched despit my front door only being locked with a yale. One shove with your hand and it's open. Robbers don't like dogs, they make too much noise, take it from me. A robber would much rather pick something easier. Stupid dogs are best because they are the most loyal, boxers, rottweillers, american pit's, all these dogs will die for you. Train them well and they will protect you and your premises. Merely their presence is enough to deter most would be robbers.

Dobermans are very intelligent dogs and work best in pairs. They are known for their cunning and will surround their target making sure it is ensnared before they attack.

I've never owned a doberman, and the only ones I have ever come across haven't liked me. I usually get on well with most dogs, but dobermans... they send shivers down me. they have no compassion.

Like I say though, I don't know the breed. You might know them to be the most compassionate breed you have encountered. It's often that way, dogs get a certain reputation.

If ever I have a lot of land, which fingers crossed will be some time soon, then I'd have the pinschers for patrolling it. I couldn't see me letting them around my kids. Of course I'm open to argument, a lot of people think that I shouldn't have my dog around the kids, but they don't know him like I do.

Never castrate your dog, they lose their temperament.

I have a little compound. 6' enclosed chain link fence with barb wire on top. I like it cause people can see my pit bull running around and dont even bother to get close to the gate. lol.

Skunk dobermans are excellent dogs, one person dogs for sure and love the attention. With kids well that I think all depends on the owner we have kids around here all the time licks them all and then goes and sleeps on the couch.

As for intruders, well these little bastards are devious they sneak up on everyone and then they goto town. No fear it seems in these dogs just something in there brain that wants to protect the owners. I would suggest a doberman over any other dog for this reason.

I had a couple dobies when I was growing up. Smartest dog I have ever seen. My dad spent like $3500 on his training. I could sic him on you and say "out" and he would stop. I liked to mess with all my friends. They didnt like it though. lol

Dogs have protected man since before we discovered that we could shelter from the rain in a cave. You can trust a dog more than you can your siblings. I'd have a whole pack of dogs, but the missus barely lets me get away with one. I've told her though, that as soon as we get a bigger place i'm getting the dogs to fill it. I quite like great danes, they look mean once they have their ears clipped, illegal in this country. Dobermans look meaner with their ears clipped too, in fact the more I think about it it makes most dogs look meaner. Ever seen a miniature doberman rollitup? I have... ha ha ha. What the point is is beyond me.

I like dobermen, when i grow up its one of the dogs i want, maybe 2 depending on my place, at the moment my family has 3 border collies, there not much of guard dogs, but my seemingly retarded dog likes to bite toy guns, and the user of them, and they bark when people come in and out, so basically there like alarm / delaying guard dogs, although i keep a 8 inch kiife on my bed side table and my dogs bark whenever someone even comes onto my property, so im pretty safe, and i live in a neighborhood so i have a low chance on being broken into.

I've got a couple of hockey sticks as back-up. I think I'd save the knives for when i've got one tied to a chair and I've invited my mates round for a bit of smoke and torture.

I once had a friend who had a trained Doberman. The dog was trained to let burglars in, but not out. Think about that one! As for me, a Colt .45 Government model does just fine. :)

Jac, you can't leave your gf, she knows too much. A woman scorned... and all that. Joining the army now would just make you a moving target for the Iraqi freedom fighters. plus they have piss tests in the army.
