Proven Deer Repellents

anyone have any suggestions on what to use to deter deer and jackrabbits? I've read about so many different things, I don't know what would work the best. I've read that people make egg shakes and spray that on there plants, also read soap shavings around your area keep them away, but what's the best method?

I've tried leaving my scent, liquid fence, spreading diced up irish springs soap, spreading those blue pucks that you put in the back of the toilet around the grow area, and none if it kept the deer from munching on my plants. Finally i put up a 6 ft fence made of clear fishing line, with a line every 6 inches(maybe overkill) and I didn't have any problems last year. My plot was in a swamp with raised beds so i didn't have to worry about rabbits. Maybe rodent repellant would work for them.

I use a mixture of olive oil, soap, eggs, garlic and habanero pepper along with a little neem oil to kill two birds with one stone.

This site lists a lot of similar mixtures and they all look like they'd work pretty damn well and are from what seem like authorities on the subject.

You just make a liquid fence with that mix or you actually spray it on when it's vegging cuz that's what a lot of those mixes say to do.

I like the fishing line fence idea, too. I was gonna use fishing line to hold up branches and shrubs to make a natural camoflauge

Either way. As long as it's organic and it's more than a few weeks away from harvest I just spray it on. After that I spray it around; like you said, a liquid fence.

The raw egg isn't bad for the leaves or anything?

idk

Eggs seem pretty innocuous to me. I never noticed any ill results. I'm sure much gnarlier shit has been sprayed on whatever fruit/veggies you ate today.
Even with direct sun on the raw eggs? it's ok? seems like that couldn't be too good for the plant.

I tried spreading my piss and hair around my grow area a couple of years ago. I even went as far as to pee in bottles and take several of them out to spread around, and i saved a bag of hair after i got a haircut to spread as well. It seemed to be working but after a while the deer got used to the smell and ravaged my plants.

Lol, see that is not what I want to happen. I think I'm just going to invest in a store bought proven deer repellent. I know there's probably homemade recipes that work, but I just want to guarantee my plants' protection you know

just save all your pee in a bottle and every time you go out there dump it in a 6 foot radious around the plants and the animals wont touch them

When late summer rolls around and if feed gets scarce due to drought the only guarantee against deer is a fence, 6' for blacktail and 8' for whitetail.

I thinnk I'm going to try the fishing line fence method because I'm trying to keep my spot pretty incospicuous. a dog would work best, but I know he'd probably get to howlin at night and drawing unneeded attention

I piss all around my plants everytime i go out there, by doin this you are marking it as your territory. you have to play the game the way the animals see it. just piss around the area as much as you can and wont nothing mess with it. and i hear human hair and blood works well too
