I have a 150Watt HPS setup and im wanting to switch over to the flowering ASAP before my plants get so big that my light can not keep them alive.... Should I do any pruning? Lollipop? Topping? anything?
:leaf:
This is my first successful grow and i don't know anything about pruning... so drink some coffee and then talk away.... :bigjoint:

Instead of a Scrog try using string and pulling the main shoot over and tie all the new flower growth at even levels so that it is almost entirely flat.. Same effect alot easier and you can modify as needed. Works well

Is this something that I should start doing now or when the colas start to grow on the top? I am expecting for one or two of these plants to turn out male... so that might free up the space some

i have no pics.
what you need to do is tie some string near the top of the plant. i would estimate at least 2.5 inches from the top. then pull the top so it will point down. it all depends how flexible your plant is so how far it will go. the farther down the better. you then tie the end of your strings to the top of your pot. usually a screw screwed in the top of the pots work great for tieing plants down. anyone else got a picture for this guy.

Okay, I get what your saying. So this will cause the inside of the plant to be exposed to the light so the bud will grow on the inside of the plant.

Ill go get some hemp and tie it up!!!

Here is an example I found. I start pulling it over early so more tops form. HOwever waited until flowers to start doing the flattening. Its really up to you just practice with it. It is hard to really do any damage as long as you are careful.

Anyways here is the pic that will give you a general idea

You will get great usage and alot more bud out of your 150w like this because light will get evenly to the flowers.

Also, an added benefit is that it causes the plant to release a growth hormone that is not as abundant in a plant growing straight up.

It is why the Volksgardens do so well when they put the plants upside down.

It is why the Volksgardens do so well when they put the plants upside down.

That would be 1 reason, Another being the more efficient use of the lumens. The plants are being rotated arround the lamp instead of hanging over it, which is alot more efficient.

The diagram is very nice and helpfull, Thanks muchly for that!!
