I have two plants growing now in a closet 2 weeks into flowering after about 8-9 weeks vegging. Since I have trained it (LST) short, they are rather bushy. I have already identified my bud sites, the stems come straight up and have the white hairs. My problem is the big fan leaves blocking the light from the budsites. There are about 4 on each plant that are huge ands are blocking lots of lights. What kind of tips ot techniques can I use in safely pruning these plants that won't cause too much stress. Also, I';m getting white hairs at every what I think are budsites. I haven't seen any pollen sacs and lots of white hairs. Can I be rest assured that I have two females?

Thanks for the responses, but here's a pretty basic question. How do I go about trimming the leaf? Do I cut it near the main stems, right on the stems near the white hairs, at the end of the stem closest to the leaves? At an angle, apply anything to it, things to watch out for after cutting?

Cutting leaves should be done half way from the stem to the leave.BUT i would never trim fan leaves again,i did it on my first grow,BIG mistake. These are the energy leaves for the plant its WAY better to tuck them, they like to go back so i would use small string and tie them to the main stem lightly of corse.cutting fan laeves will kill your yield, good luck.PS light can travele thew one or two fan leaves.
