Pruning when and how much

So my plant has been flowering awhile....I finally switched it to a bigger pot to give the roots more room and i haven't done any pruning...there are some bigger fan leaves blocking the light from alot of buds so I cut about 8 off today close to the stem...was this a bad idea or good for the buds??? The plant is healthy and has been on flowering nutrients for a few weeks or more now...also I took two clones from it when it started flowering and they are doing well and seem to be growing roots. When are you supposed to prune ideally, and how much at a time??? Thanks for any help about this.....and also wondering how to easily provide CO2 to one plant without tank setup or machine????:weed:

I think that if ur plant is strong and healthy u can take leaves anytime. People think I'm nuts for chopin of huge leaves that're keepin my tops in near total dark. But my plant has shit-loads of leaves, and shit-loads of TOPS. I just take the ones that'll offer plentymore light below, and I take em off just at the base of the leaf and leave the little stem. That's just me though

yes sir, even light distribution is what u are referin to,by clippin some leaves u alow for more light penetration to the lower buds, and the plant generally will put out more leaves than it really needs to live and grow healthily, plus rep for u:clap:

watever you dont clip bud leaves! they feed buds, we dont want skimpy buds! but keep the leaves. theyre good for so many things.

Checked today and it seems fine...I think it will help the lower stuff because the huge fan leaves were blocking light from everything at the bottom...I have heard though to never prune or even remove dead leaves so that is why I didn't touch it til now....I am going to try the homemade sugar/yeast CO2 method in a bucket to see what it does. The buds are still growing and I left all the upper smaller fan leaves so I think she'll be okay....the ones I cut off all had purple stems and weren't budding on the stems so I thought they aren't doing anything but blocking light...if it doesn't work with this one I made two clones so I will learn and do better next time....Thanks to anyone who gave help.:dunce:

See what i mean?!! People be scared of takin leaves off!! Sound like u did it right though cee. Let me know how that co2 thing works out for u. I thought about tryin that too, but i'm too much of a control freak when it comes to my plants, so i'm goin without till i get a real co2 setup.:leaf:

dry em on newspaper in a closet or something, u could smoke or attempt to make some hash, it might be green tho. its good smoking, its got a distinct taste too it. theres a few things u can do with em.

I use my triming as joint filler; I dont like the taste tabaco.Fine dry trimming + some tasty buds = a lovely sunday morning high :)

Tried the sugar/yeast and water method in a bucket to make CO2 but it seems to quit making gas unless you are agitating it constantly...I'd rather not open my room every couple hours to shake the bucket, and I doubt the amount of CO2 released is very much...I think it is better to save the money spent on sugar and buy a tank setup-regulator, solenoid valve, timer and bottle...then if you can get a CO2 monitor to borrow to figure out what kind of time cycle to set your valve to open for it will be better-that is what I will probably try next.

just use the leaves (once dried) as joint filler it takes 100g to make 10g of hash so the few leaves you took off aint gunna make a lot hash now are they

I've been clipping on mine as well and just found out yesterday that they're both girls. Pruning won't make em go hermi on ya.:peace:

I think the main thing to remeber when pruning is not to go overboard...I make some pot butter with mine and cook all kinds of stuff to eat when I have the munchies...and maybe its just me but my lower buds are a bit smaller but I've found some good sized nugs hiding inside the canopy of tops maybe there just growing off the light thats getting to the tops and using the extra energy down there either way I prune to allow light sometimes guess it depends what mood I'm in but buds grow in low light and up top cause the plant produces food and sends it every where just some places are more productive that others...make some pot butter:)

no where u hear dat dawg?if u cut all leaves off theyll die,but theres a chance for them to come back. hermin comes from genetics and stress.

or they can be caused by this guy...
haha, thanks.

i just guessed that clipping leaves would stress them, but if it dpesn't i might give it a go if needed.

thanks +rep
