Purple Haze/Afghan Kush CFL Cabinet grow

Starting up my second grow. Got a G13 Labs Purple Haze and a World of Seeds Afghan Kush. A little over 2 weeks old now. Just topped them both, planning on "main-lining" both of these.

My set up:
  • 2-chamber, self-built grow cabinet
  • veg chamber: 2x 26 watt 6500k CFLs, painted white and then layered with mylar, 12-volt 4" exhaust fan (1'x1'x2.5')
  • flower chamber: 2x 105 watt 2400k CFLs, painted white and layer with mylar, 12-volt 4" exhaust fan (2'x1'x2.5')
  • starting in 3" peat pots, with just some average potting soil and perlite at a 4:1 ratio, will move to 9'' pots
  • water with RO water, 4-12-4 for veg, 18-18-21 for flower

Dealing with some heat issues in the veg chamber, stays around 80 degrees. Flower chamber is perfect at 70 degrees. Humidity is about 50% in both chambers.

Hard to see, but already responding to the topping after just one day.

Again, already responding.

These plants are almost showing complete opposite characteristics. The Haze is short with wide leaves, and the Kush is tall with thin leaves. Almost makes me think I mixed the seeds up, haha. I already can see major, major improvement for myself versus my first grow, and I am really excited for these beauties.

These plants are now at around 1 month old. Had a mishap with my Purple Haze, after topping I was trying to tie down one of the shoots and I forced it a little hard and it broke. I nursed it back and it ended up fusing back together with new growth now starting, lost probably about a week or two of growth on that side. The Afghan Kush is growing very fast. I transferred both plants to new 6 inch pots, which they seem to love. About to start upping their nutes soon. Also plan on moving the Afghan Kush over to flowering as soon as I can take two good clones from her. These two plants are the start of my perpetual grow plan and need to be a month apart. Will leave the Purple Haze in veg until the Afghan Kush has been in flower for a month.

Plants are now at 1 month and 1 week. The Afghan Kush is growing like crazy, so much faster than my last grow. I moved it over to 12/12 today. I'm a week behind the schedule I made for the perpetual grow, but that was more of just to see what I need to do and when to do it relative to clones and switching cycles so I'm not too concerned about it. The Purple Haze is, so far, short and bushy. It's growing nicely, recovered well from the reattachment of one of the shoots. I could probably go ahead and take clones, but I'm going to just wait until about a week before I put it in flowering. The Kush clones seem to be going good. I want to say the week old one is showing signs of growth, but it may just be my imagination.

Both the Afghan Kush and the Purple Haze are in flowering now. The Kush is about 2 weeks ahead. Clones from both are already in the veg chamber.
