Pyrosol vs. Rare Earth

So here's a link to Pyrosol, made by General Hydroponics.

Here's a link to Rare Earth, also made my General Hydroponics.

They're both a silcate clay, I don't understand why GH makes both. I also can't find Pyrosol in the grow shops any more. Does anybody know if Pyrosol is discontinued?

I use Pyrosol as a PH buffer and to increase plant heartiness. Should I switch to Rare Earth? Does anybody have some comments regarding Rare Earth?

Much appreciated...

Ran into something similar a couple of days ago, except with Humboldt Nutrients. They have a couple of different root stimulants that are basically the same thing (White Widow & Humboldt Roots). I called their 24/7 tech support (great btw if you ever need any info on Humboldt Nutes) and he said that you dont have to use both of them, but to get the plants to their maximum potential, use both.....basically if you want it to be the best it can possibly be use both of them.

Pyrosol is discontinued in America.
Rare earth is the new version, but it is not the same.
Rare earth is pyrophillitic clay and leonardite... Humic acid comes from leonardite...
You can use Rare earth in hydro by putting it in a little bag (included with the rare earth) and putting it in your reservoir. You can also make an extract in hot water and use that as foliar fed (with or without additional fertilizer)....... and you can just mix in the dry powder with dirt and things like that...

They are not the same product at all... The inventor of pyrosol is a horticulturist woman in new zealand.. she sells pyrosol still outta new zealand, i think.....
