More pics from this morning. I've added some pics of the polyploid /triploid i have going on with one of the qleaner girls. She was the runt ( or danny davito) of twins.

Today is day 12 for the 3 qleaners. The plants have been growing beautifully and showing no claws, or deficiencies
of any kind. Leaves are big, stems are big, growth is moving super fast. The top feed over dwc is proving to be easy and effective. Roots are starting to take hold in the dwc part of the bucket. I'm running about 420ppm, and add back nutes and water daily. I've started running some GH floralicious plus in the rez. Homebrewer tells me he sees added aroma and resin production from using it. I use a capful (15ml) to a 20 gal rez.

The taller lanky qleaner is at day 17 and is showing a little bud development now. :)

Day 15 of the qleaners flowering cycle. still running low co2 boost, 420 ppm, 5.5 to 6.0 ph, running dynagrow bloom, proteck, and floraliciuos plus. changing nutes weekly on a 20 gallon rez feeding 3 girls. adding back a couple gallons and 10ml of nutes everyday.
Here is the polyploid.

A triploid top.

Triploid side.

group photo of the 3 girls.

And here is the one strecthy girl that vegged faster than the others. she has been bent over and is at day 19 of flower.

I found an old subcool post that explains the polyploid in qleaner.

We originally thought it was becuase I pollenated so heavy when I made JTR but we now know thats not the case.
JTR and JC2 are now infamous for the 2 and 3 plants from one seed trait.
I feel it is originating from the JTR triploid male we selected based on resin content and smell and the Fact Ricky seeds would loose his mind to have one

sorry to post here but i am a beginner to dwc and you say you add a cap of nutes every day to a 20 gallon res also a few questions on your set up as i can see you have 5 gal. bucket with some hoses going in im taking a shot in the dark here but this is how your set up is in my head res. (separated) 20gallon ,5 gallon buckets, hoses to and from the 5 gal buckets just wondering is there water that stays in you 5 gal. buckets or is it just constantly going round and round and do you have any air pumps.

Macrael, I add about a cap of dynagro bloom to my res, plus a couple gallons of tap water. this is just to keep me at my 420 ppm level.

My buckets are raised 6" higher than my rez, leaving me with about 2.5 gallons in each bucket. I pump in 2 minute bursts 8 times a day. I pump water from my rez, through 1/2 tubing, than through these little spaghetti tubes into the top of the bucket. Old solution in the bucket moves back to the rez by gravity, till it settles at half full in the bucket. I also use an airstone in the bucket. Very similar to the waterfarm 8 pack, only I water less frequently because I use rockwool in the net basket.

thanks for the info im going to try the og dwc this time around if it goes good ill stick with it if not well i have all the pump and tables and reservoirs to do something like that lol i went and bought a ph pen it came with a 4x4 res and 2 8 x 4 eb and flow tables lol paid 130 bucks or less i can t remember then the guy next door got busted and the land lord threw everything out in the garbage that the police didn t take so i grab'd the tables for safe keeping and a few reservoirs and all kinds of tubing and pump spray cans. now i have 6 big ebb and flow tables two reservoirs and all kinds of thing to play around with just gotta flip out the tables for bucket for space reasons.

I had a little bleaching or a deficiency show up on a few tops closest to the light. I raised the light up a little more, and have a good 16" of clearance now. This pretty much showed up overnight. temp was 78, ppm was 450, ph was 5.8
I believe it was just a little too much light.

Raising the lights must have been what they wanted. they look happy today and the yellowing spots on the leaves did not get any bigger.
My Ph has been dropping. I started the week off at 6.0 and in 4 days I was down to 5.4, and I was even giving a little ph up during this time. Today I gave them enough ph up to get back to 6.0

Day 23 of flower with the qleaners. these girls are growing quite stout. stems are long and thick and should be able to support some big buds. Bud development is in full swing now, but did take a few days longer than I'm used to as far as kicking in to flower. The Vortex would be at the halfway mark at day 23. I've been running from 500 ppm at the beginning of the week down to the 400 ppm range at the end of the week. Still giving them 1ml per gallon of floralicious plus.

This strain of weed seems to always have its leaves pointing up at the light.DSC03327qleaners 23 .jpgDSC03318qleaners 23 .jpgDSC03317qleaners 23 .jpgDSC03316qleaners 23 .jpgDSC03314qleaners 23 .jpgDSC03312qleaners 23 .jpg

Just out of curiosity, what's with all the subcool gear? Did you sample some or were these cuts given to you or are you just interested in trying a few of his strains? Those plants could not look healthier right now, well done.

I've tried 3 different subcool strains, and bought them all at the corner dispensary. I have a few friends that grow, but they always struggle with mites and mildew, so i did not want their cuts. I feel like TGA is probably just as good as any other breeder out there, but I am no big fan.... yet.
I don't dig the idea of ordering from the UK, it just doesn't feel right.
That durban I had going was my favorite strain to date, and I have serious remorse for tossing out that strain. It's tricky to have any variety and keep your numbers compliant.
Look for a change in greenery soon, as I was just comped some 303 seeds.

Based on the prices he charges, he would certainly agree with your statement. Not sure if you watch his youtube show but when he talks about his strains, he's always referring to specific phenotypes which is concerning to me as he only sells 5 packs of seeds I believe. Chucking pollen isn't how you get a stable strain but with enough seeds, I bet you can find a good pheno. Your Qleaner looks great so far, hopefully it turns out to be a keeper.

The whole pheno thing was a curveball for me. My durban was yielding huge, more than I needed, so I thought I would find something danker but with a smaller yield. I popped 5 seeds or vortex and got 1 girl, that was not the one that I wanted. She was not bad, but nothing stellar either. My durban was all around better smoke.

I have 4 qleaners in bloom now, so that should improve my odds of finding something that stands out. If I don't find that special girl, thats ok too. I have some lemon skunk bag seed going into rotation, than we'll be growing something from 303seeds.

HB, how did your breeding project turn out?

Turned out really well actually. I don't have the time or the space to stabilize the strain in seed-form so I was really just looking for a clone-only strain that had no resemblance to the parents. I found two phenos that are not only different than the parents but they're quite different from one another too. Stinky, potent, long lasting highs, very resinous. I'll see if I can post a picture of the nugs I just harvested that are curing.
