QUESTION ABOUT 1000w HPS LIGTHS AND HEAT REFLECTOR

i have 1000w HPS light and a hood with heat reflector glass and i need to know how close can i put the light for the best yield and not burn them?

its 1000w you can go as much as 4 feet from the plants and be fine, its not a cfl and cramming it as close as possible isnt gonna benefit you like you might think it will im speaking from experience lol. i dont even adjust the height of my 1kw anymore, my plants start about 4 feet away and grow their way closer as they stretch but never get closer then 2 feet. get to close and your gonna see temps start shooting up and alot of funky growth out of your buds imo

If your hand feels hot at plant level, its too hot for the plants. Rule of thumb, 3 feet for 100HPS, 2feet for 600HPS 1foot for 400HPS. If you have glass between, you should be able to get closer then that though.
Also, if you have a fan blowing between the lights and the plants, that will help too
