Question about feminized seeds and using colloidal silver

Hey guys,

Got 2 questions im hoping someone can answer for me..

1) can you use colloidal silver to reverse a feminized plant? Or does that plant have no male alleles hence why it is feminized?

2) i have a strain that i wish to keep for a while and i would like to take clones off it and reverse one of them to gather pollen, can i then use that pollen to seed up the mother plant?

The second question im assuming would be yes but just want to check.

Cheers

the answer is yes to both questions. but i would cut clones and use them not the mother. imho . colloidal silver is really hard on the plant, i think i would want her to be younger and more virile.

Yes and yes

you can take two clones from the mother and spray one and use the other for seeds or take one clone, reverse it and use that pollen on the mother.

try to give the sprayed plant a head start in 12/12, maybe a week or two

the colloidal silver stresses and stunts the plant a bit especially if you spray the whole thing

I have made seeds crops with colloidal silver, you can pm me if you want

Thanks very much for the replies guys, i really appreciate it :)

I'll flick you a PM when i'm ready to go Trousers, thanks for that :D

Another quick question then, i've bought a bottle of CS and it's 500ml of 50mg p/l so 50ppm. Do i just pour the whole bottle into a spray bottle and use it or is there a measurement that i need to dilute with water? I'd imagine I'd just use the whole bottle as it has RO water used in the process of getting the CS...

cheers guys

Don't dilute it. If it really is 50 ppm it should work well.

you can collect the pollen and use it selectively, make sure you give the seeds about 5 weeks to develop. collect pollen and store it no matter what you do, it is easy

I have heard claims of pollen lasting multiple months when dried, mixed and stored in a cool place (basement etc)

you might want to look into a hep air filter to help grab stray pollen, once those plants start skeeting, you can can a dusting of pollen
I picked stuff pollen sack off there were so many at one point

come to think of it, you only need one good branch to throw pollen
You could spray just 2 branches, one to be sure.

Ah excellent, was hoping i could store the pollen dried in seed envelopes in my fridge like i do my beans. If i can store for a few months i'm set :)

Ok cool, was only wanting to spray one branch but will do 2 just to be safe :) and i'll definitely look into the fan too, dont want to seed my whole crop hey :)

cheers dude!

The CS i bought is OxyMin and i just saw on their site that it has been tested to be consistently 50mg/L of silver :) hope its right as it only cost me $40 delivered!!

Depends mate, if you just want one branch to shoot pollen then drench one branch each day until you see balls. Otherwise drench te whole plant each day until you seel balls :) so ive read anyway!

I've read a few different opinions on this one. A few say the week before the flip you start, others say the day before you flip, others say the day you flip! I'll be giving them a spray from the week before flip right through to the site of big sweaty balls :)

Anyone know what the shelf life of CS is? And I agree Puff, This is a good thread.

How about the occurrence of more hermies in the seed generation, does it go up?

If you keep CS in a cool dark place it will last a long time.
Feminized seeds made from stable varieties are no more likely to "herm" than the parents.
