Question about LST (low stress training)

Your right on time!!! When you start to flower, expect them to grow 3 times the size! So get them young and it'll be less stress during flower... but there have been many times I've tied them down during flower... just don't be to drastic at once! We want LOW stress, not OMG WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING stress (btw, that was the plant talking). If you train them before flower, you'll prolly have to do it again within the first few weeks of flower cuz they'll jump they're groth FAST, especially sativa/sativa dominant strains... they seem slow at first, but DAMN they take off!! I tied my Hawaiian Snow down up untill the 4th week of flower!!

So go for it man! Good Luck!

There is a certain degree of flexibility to when you do it. Some people are forced by size/height constraints to start training them earlier and others have the room to let them veg longer and train them when flowering is about to begin. Pot plants are pretty tough and unless you really abuse them you should be cool and the gang in most situations.

A guy I used to know would grow outdoors on the edge of an unused field by a line of trees just a ways away from his property. He hardly checked his plants and basically just let Mother Nature tend to them other than in the very worst of dry conditions. One time he went and a small branch from one of the nearby trees had fallen and hit a plant near the top and bent it over a little more than half way to the ground and the main stem looked like it had split and the top was pinned to the ground but the bent/split stem healed and the top grew up from where it was pinned down and he still got a pretty good yield from it. He said it looked like a ‘Z’ laying on its side so if it could stand that what you are going to do should be child’s play for it.

Again pot plants are tougher than many people seem to think they are. I think that comes from them meaning so much to use so we baby them and handle them with kid gloves and act like they are fragile as eggs but they can usually take a licking and come back ticking so don’t worry about things and just do what you have to do and everything should work out fine.

What I do is I go up to about the 4th node and tie it to the side of the pot (container)... within 12-24hrs, it should stand it's self upright again... when you bend it, I would, and do, do it untill you feel enough resistance for comfort... you really don't want a 90 degree angle on the stem... don't worry about trying to bring it to low because as I mention earlier, it will at least double in height when flowering.

So, what I'd do is lst it before flower, and once it's grown to that height again... go about 4inches from the last tie-down site on the pot container and strap another one there so that your almost promoting the top of the plant to grow along the sides of the pot in a semicircle... but don't go to crazy with it... you still wanna leave room for the cola to form it's beautiful donkey bud!

I would leave it till harvest...

Weed is a headstrong plant that can take a beating like Brick Top said! They can take a lot... bbbuuuttt like humans, if you stress them enough, they arn't gonna do what you want them to, or at least they'll get stunned for a week, then continue.

i'd lst during veg but it's not too late if your plant is under two feet when you flower
