question about watering coco

I run straight coco; I feed every day, twice a day...this is done from the seedling stage. The key is matching your pot size to the plant...and a coco grown plant doesn't need or want the same size pot as a soil grow. For sure though, my plants NEVER see plain water...ever. From the time I drop the seed, the plants are being fed something. That's what makes Coco such a good girl...she takes it multiple times a day, every day...and she still wants more.

I usually mix about 25% big chunk perlite into my coco, but I've had great results using plain coco as well.
When I plant a junior into the coco, I'll water no more than 1 time a day in the hopes that the roots will spread through the medium, looking for nourishment.
Once established I water 3 times a day and the plants love it.

Have any of you used House and Garden Coco?

what size pots are you guys growing in?

im switching to coco next run, today is day one of researching what i need to buy and what i need to know. Soil around here is getting harder and omore expensive to get. So im making the switch.

willing to take any advice or help offered lol

I'm a cheap bastard when it comes to bulk products and I usually buy either the Botanicare or General Hydroponic compressed bricks. I have to leach and buffer this however.
If your can manage I'd recommend Canna Coco over all others, but I'm sure House and Garden makes a fine product.
Some people recommend small pots in the order of 1 gallon per plant, but honestly I've had better luck with 5 gallons per plant.
I guess it all depends on the size of the plant desired. I have a good buddy that grows in 15 and 20 gallon pots, but he grows huge plants.
I can muster about 12 ounces per 5 gallon bucket of coco.

120.00 per 50L bag cad.

Not sure how much my shop is charging for the h&g

Right now I'm growing in a 4x4 tent with a 4 plant count. So maximizing the space has been the objective lol

I've looked at Coco products on Amazon in the past and there is some serious overpricing going on.
I pay about $14 American for a 5 kg bale of coco from Botanicare and I think the 3 kg coco brick from Canna is about $20 and this is at a local grow shop in Alaska, which is more than what they pay in the lower 48.

Ya it seems we're getting gouged pretty good on .ca

Same goes for soil too tho. I was getting bags of FFOF for 17.99 a bag and amazon wanted 80.00... absurd

I think my local hydro shop sells the canna 50L bags for about $40 and the bricks for like $20 CAD ...canna's products are suppose to be pre-buffered so i go with the bricks, cheap and good quality and no buffering.

Nice, I'm not sure of the prices of coco at our shop but I do know they only sell h&g brand

Nothing h&g is cheap so I assume this won't be either lol

I might look into ordering the bricks on amazon or maybe from a shop outside the province
