Hello there,

I bought a 48 inch shop light and 2 fluorescent 48inch tubes, that are 40 watts, and put out 3150 lumens each. If I put this over my plant will it be enough to make it grow in the later stages or do I need more? :\

would my best bet just be to get 48 inchers that put out more lumens?

Also, can I grow more than one plant under it?

I start my plants under these lights. After a few weeks I switch to a mh light. You can grow under that shop light but you will need 3-6 more to get enough light. It will grow good but the buds will be loose.

So your saying with the 6150 lumens its puting out right now would grow it, but I would need more lights to create tighter bud?

You have to remember however it's not just the amount of lumens that help your buds grow thicker. Florescent lighting contains a large spectrum of light that is for the most part non essential for the flowering stage of growth. If I were you I would save up some money and buy a HPS fixture. The Florescent lighting will work fine for the vegetative stage but by using a HPS bulb during the flowering stage you will get a bigger yield and an overall better final product.
