Question, I have 5 tents, should i have many small plants or few big ones??

I have a 2x3 tent and 4 2x2 tents. I was wondering if it would be better to fill them with smaller but more plants, or less bigger plants using more space. Really looking for what would be the most efficient choice. last time I only had 4 big plants in my 2x3 and it was pretty crowded, That was after one month of veg and a month and a half of flower, And it only yeilded 3.5 oz. So what do you think my best option is?

In all tents im running 200W CFL 2700k 8u's, Normally one Horizontal and one Vertical. But I need some ideas and other peoples knoledge
