Question Of LSt, Light Height and Flip

Ok, been journalling my grow, and maybe I'm getting exactly what I thought, but seeing some different stuff past few days. I was fighting pH drift upward for days since i changed rez on Monday. Now stable at 5.8 for two days.

Have 4 widows, 1 widow clone and 2 carmelicious growing in stealth cool cab in hydro, now about 55 days since seed went into the jiffypots in the set up. The widows are stout, bushy ( almost to bushy) and now full of growth sites after several weeks of LST. They were so tight that I backed the lights up some ( LEDS) to see if they would stretch a bit to make LSt easier and get ready to flip to flower- want to flip at about 16" to fill cab space with headroom for lights and space from lights. The two carms were also pretty bushy but much longer than the widows. They have plenty of growth sites too, but once I backed lights off, and pulled LSt for two days seemed to lose a bunch of lower leaves to dry out and the canopy all of a sudden opened up, with new growth buds being kinda spindly. Some of my drippers did get clogged, but rez is at reg height and fogger is humming along. No signs of nute def or burn on new growth, just lots of lower leaf dry off- Normal?

I re- lsted the bunch and dropped lights back to where I was running for dense bushy growth. This normal to see dryout at this stage? Plants are now 12" tall.

Other specs- Cab temp 82F, RH 42, Nutes at 1200ppm, pH is 5.8 stable now after a ton of adjustment to get it down over past few days. Been also dropping frozen water bottles in tank to keep rez temp under 75 F.

Ideas?

LED's have little penetration, keep up with your LST work and keep your canopy's even and use as much of the footprint of your light that you can rather than letting them get tall.

Sounds like you've experienced some lower growth die off from insufficient light penetration,

They are 3 w leds on the blackstar so it gets pretty deep but I think that may be part of it goiven how bushy they were..most of the leaves that dried up were originally nute burned a bit early in grow. Bleached a few when they grewso fast overnight I didnt get UFOS up in time too... Waiting to see what a few days of major LST does to bush them back up. Weird thing was it was the carms that got hit- they look more sativa dom so that might be part of it- the widows have been indestructible bushy monsters no matter what mistakes I make with them...

Now I have a white slime on my roots and on top of net pots- filter on pump and drippers cloggged- just cleared them- think I need another rez change..Ph went to 7.6 from 5.8 in a day...got it back down with a ton of acid last night...Nutes getting used up- or gelled- slime doesn't smell. Hit it with a half bottle of HOOH as well. I used some citric acid/ascorbic acid/Si O2 to bring pH down at first , so I think it might be gelled silica. Also dried/bleached someof the sugra eaves on the carms- Widows still doing well. LSt did get a bunch more new growth going
