No it is NOT! Come on man, you really need to stop giving people so much utterly incorrect advice.

That's a dimmer that cuts parts of the AC sine wave out to modulate power. You should NOT use those on electronic power supplies.

@Nugachino, Google something like "0-10V dimmers and switches" to find dimmers that actually do work for Mean Well drivers. Or use a simple potmeter on the dimming wire and a regular switch on the AC input.

Hi tstick,

dimming is fairly acurate with a "linear" 100k potis.
And to get an idea of the actual V's and Amps's you can use this small 5$ DC voltage/ampere-meters.

They are rated to meassure up to 300v and 10A DC without a shunt. I've added them to the end of the DC circuit to get actual voltage- and current-values and they seems to work really. If you want, you can calibrate volts and ampere readings via an internal poti on the backside. They need 5-30v so I added it to the 12v power supply(small black and red wires).
Then add the yellow wire get..front of the first cob to the dc circuit and put the red wire at the end of the dc-string. Finally the black wire goes to the - pole/black wire of the driver.

Really easy to manage and cheap to get

Good thing I haven't tried to use it yet. I mainly bought that switch and dimmer because when I used the dimmer mine came with. It doesn't dim all that much before the light starts to flicker quite noticeably.

That's with two Vero29's. Given a 1.4A current. And driven between 70-100w with an "erao" driver... I dunno that brand. It's what Mark at cutter gave me for my lights.

Maybe your pot is not a linear one but a logarithmic? You can check that! Is there a B100k imprint, it is a linear one and stands A100k on it, then it is a logarithmic poti! This could be the reason for your flickers..
An other reason for the flickers could be a defective or corroded poti..

The only info I can find is that it's analogue. And it's 1-10v.

I don't know much about 1-10v dimming but if itcs a meanwell driver you can use a simple B100k poti like this one:

It do not need an external power source, like the 1-10v or pwm dimming options. Simple add the blue and white wires to the left and the middle pin of the poti and voila, it works.

I would buy a 5-pack and use a multimeter to check real ohms. You need at least real 100k to get full 100% from the driver and this typ of potis fluctuates often between ±5%. 100-102k are perfect!
