Hi.. just need some advice or opinions as im a newbie. and want a simple but effective process..

About to harvest in a few weeks so please help me out.

My plan is to hang dry the buds upside down after i have harvested and manicured the leaves.. i plan on hang drying for 5days in a cool ventilated dark spot (inside my grow tent).

Then break apart buds so they can fit into several of my half gallon mason jars for curing. in a cool dark place. and check every twelve hours, allow to dry out on the table for anthor 6 hours then back in jar (repeat process) etc?

I want to retain the flavours and make them smell beautiful. and perfect dryness.. so how long is too long for hang drying buds? How should i do this.

I think 5 days would b to long depending on ur RH levels. I say chop trim most the leaves hang up side down for 3 daysand check. Should be a lil moist still then put in jar about 3/4 full put lid on and burp every 6 hrs. For about a week.

depends fan speed, i can dry some bud in 3 days and others it may take more or less, depends on density. remove as much stem as possible, it retains a lot of moisture that can prolong curing. put a paper towel on the bottom of the lid before screwing it on, it'll absorb excess humidity and prevent mold problems, brown paper bag method is also effective in good drying and also preserves smell, id say the longer in a mason jar, the smoother and stinkier it will be.

Your plan sounds good. some people try to cure the budds with them attached on the main stem and that is when I find ppl have mold issues. Hang your budds until the stems steem to crack and stay intact at the same time. and when you cure the budds dont be too worried on keeping track on the time you have the jars open and shit like that. if your humidity is nice and low open the jars when you get up, when you come home from work ( or is you have the luxary of not working) arond 4 pm close them up. then around 8 pm open them for some air. then when you sleep close it. repeat untill you got budds you are satisfied with. In the last few days of curing my budds i usually take a few jars and seal them up for good with a little moisture inside. Then when I get to them jars a couple months down the road it is some of the stinkiest and dankest shit on the block.
