Quick and easy light question??

I have a 4ft sungrow 2x40watt florescent light and i plan to use that from when I plant my seeds until I switch to 12on/12off for the ten days to see the sexes, then back to it again. #1. Is that a strong enough light for veg for about 8 babies?

And also, I plan on getting between 3 and 8 50-100 watt mh bulbs for the flowering. I'll prolly have 2-4 females by then.#2 Is THAT strong enough and #3 should I use those mh bulbs and #4 how close can I put them to my plants?

im still a noob but this is what i think.
1.your florescent lights will be fine for clones and vegging(as long as they dont get to big)
2. 3-8 50-100watts bulbs will be fine. thats between 150watts-800watts. but why not just get one big light?
3. MH is good for vegging, HPS is better for flowering but im not saying you cant use MH.
4. as close as they can get before they burn the plants :P

why so many MH bulbs?(unless i read it wrong) get a digital ballast 250-600watts in a cool tube, with a MH and HPS bulbs. use the florescent lights for clones, then MH to veg and HPS to flower.

hope this helped a little bit:P

I meant hps not mh. I want to put the hps bulbs around the sides of the plants while flowering so I don't just have a nice top bud. More even throughout the entire plant. What do I hook the hps bulbs to when I get them? I need something that I can move around and maybe hang from chains.

What size hps bulbs do you recommend for about 3-4 plants in flowering in a 2ftx4ft closet?

The good thing about hps is that it penetrates well. I think you would be better off with one 250 or 400w hps overhead in a bat wing reflector. Your biggest problem might be heat, plan ahead for that.
