quick question about amount of plants

Hey everyone! My father has his medical marijuana license here in British Columbia, he is licensed to grow a maximum of 15 plants. recently he decided to quit smoking it and try juicing, and eating it instead, he goes through about the equivalent of a half oz of dried marijuana a day the problem is 15 plants is not enough to keep him stocked up with butter, juice etc. My father has no idea how to use a computer so he asked me too look up how to up the number of plants he is allowed to grow, I googled it but not much came up, can anybody help me out here, or maybe point me in the direction of some useful info?

Thanks, don.

Not only that- he's probably using the wrong type of cannabis for his condition-- the strain DOES matter... as does the potency and way it is used.
Juicing does NOT get you the THC-- the resins are not water soluble and must be dissolved in either , Food-grade glycerine, alcohol, oil of some type or other method of extraction (such as Ice Hash or BHO)

What is his condition? What strain is he using? How is it being grown? (Can make a difference in potency!)

Right now its purple kush grown in soil using general hydroponics flora series nutes under 2000 watts in a 8x8 scrog type setup, he suffers from severe arthritis, and a liver disorder. juicing it is purely for the health benifits, his main medical intake is the bud butter.
Is it just a matter of bringing the forms back to the doctor and reapplying for a larger prescription?
Thanks for the quick replies guys, its much appreciated.

Drop the Purple strains-- they are pretty, and have great "bag appeal" but are usually lower in the needed CBN/CBD's for medicinal use-- it is the ratio of these two chemicals to the THC that makes meds -well- meds. You aren't necessarily looking for the "high" (THC) but a Higher CBN/CBD to THC ratio boosts the pain killing power of the cannabis... there are special strains meant just for this use that are actually low in THC (like 10% or even lower) yet have a 3-5% CBD... which is higher than most (usually 1% or less)

As for the juicing- I hear a lot of people use it like spirulina... strictly for the benefits of the dark greens.... Hye- it's a great way to make the most out of your plants!!

If you need a list of med strains- let me know. ;)

Well really the only reason he has PK is because it was the only clones he could find in our town, as of now his growing space is very limitedhe has no room for a mother so he buys what ever clones he can get his hands on at the time, we are still working on the new grow space. After his current crop is done he will be picking 3 strains to grow from seed and mothers will be kept. What 3 strains would you recommend, something for pain, something for sleep, and something uplifting I think is his idea.

I'll give you the list of the best (supposedly) for medicinal use-- as for sleep- a good hard Indica will do....

And a lot of people with mix their weeds according to what they need.. like an up one mixed with the pain med for day and the indica with the med strain for at night....
anything with Sativa in it will be more "up" unless the breeder states otherwise-- so go look into each of these strains, if you can get away with an up and a night med that already is a pain med, you only have to go with 2...

You do not have to keep a mom-- Just start your seed, veg until it has at least 6 sets of side branches and then cut off 3-4 for clones and flower the mom... then you take a clone off each of THOSE plants when they are large enough and flower THEM, and so on--- you can clone thru 8-10 generations before you need to pop another seed to refresh the genetics.

Cannatonic--Resin Seeds
Arjans Haze #2-- Greenhouse seeds
Critical Kush- Barneys Farm
Dr. Feelgood-SHort Stuff Seedbank
Janita La Lagrimosa-- rehhae Seeds
Deiseltonic- Resin Seeds
Shark- CBD Crew seeds
CBD Skunk Haze- Dutch Passion
Royal Highness- Royal Queen seeds
Royal Medic-Royal Queen seeds

Yes he will need to re-apply through his signing doctor for an increase.

I juice, vape, tincture, and eat also, well over 3/4 of a zip every day. With a 15 plant count he should be easily able to supply himself. Maybe look into changing the set up and grow bigger producing plants.

With the right set up a person can pull over a pound per plant, so if you were to run perpetual for example you would have 4 plants in flower and the other 11 would be in varies stages of veg. With these numbers 1 plant every 2 weeks, thats 16 zips until hisnext plant comes off.

I don't think you need an increase, just increase yeild per plant

Good Luck

What Ganga said is true. Increasing plant numbers is a cheaper way to up your yields though. I produce about 48 zips avg every 2 months using about the same number of plants but only 1200w. More when things are going well. I don't even really grow huge plants.

I'd say Purple Kush, the better cuts I've had, are relatively high in CBD. I have never heard of purple having any factor in cannabinoid profile, although it could. I wouldn't say that is gospel though. Likely there are pure CBD purple plants to be found in this very diverse plant.

THC is also effective medicine for a lot of people and it varies with the disorder and the persons own metabolic processes.

Also, I assume you're growing in soilless medium, not soil?

Soil implies biological life providing nutrients and you certainly aren't going to have much of that running GH's hydro line.

But if you are growing in soil (and not a Spaghnum mix or coco mix) you have a poor medium for root development compared to alternatives.

I'm currently running purple kush. Had it tested last summer and it was almost 20% thc. I use it for medical purposes and find it plenty strong. Some purple strains may be not as potent.
