Yes you can. I use soil for all my clones and have had 100% success with it. I take my cutting. Let it sit in water for about 15 minutes. Then scrap the side of the cutting to expose the tissue of the clone. I then dip into the rooting hormone, then put into the soil. Mist then a couple of times a day. Usually in about 2 weeks at most you'll have roots. I use those pots that have 6-1"x2" pots. The ones you get from any nursary when you buy plants. Makes it easy to see when you have roots. It's also easy to transport several clones at once.
