Quick question regarding potting!

I'm starting up a grow again after a few years, anyways I was wondering if a 6.5 gallon bucket would be suffice enough for an outdoor plant for its whole life? I plan on starting the seedling right in the bucket and keep her there until chop. Starting with Dinafem Blue Hash and Diesel. These seeds are also 2-3 years old so they should still work....right? All help appreciated.

Depends who you ask, but myself, I think so.
I've never had problems with 5 gal. outside, but this time I may, I've got 2 vegging for almost 60 days now.

cant say for outdoor

can say that the seeds will be fine if they were stored in a decent manor.

A good rule of thumb is 1gallon for every foot of plant... So unless you're planning on exceeding 6' 5"... You're good

Are you going with supersoil?

I decided the go with FFOF soil and I got two 7 gallon buckets, one for each plant. Also have 2 bottles of nutes, one from a year ago and one from two years ago. Do nutes go bad?

Yes, nutrients go bad. In my experience the sweeteners especially can go bad.
I asked the guy at the hydro store and he recommended the same thing I read online which is to try not to keep more than a year's supply on hand, especially if they are liquid nutrients. This is easier said than done though. My bag of dry kool bloom is two years old. It seems fine but I'll be damned if I'm going to toss it out and buy another considering the tiny amount I use each grow. So I just use what I have even though some of it is more than a year old.

I just threw out a bottle of flora nectar a few weeks ago because it had mold crap growing inside of it. I suspect maybe that is what caused the brown slimy stuff in my last grow.

Much Like Seeds, Keep all fertilizers in a cool dark place and the degradation process slows dramatically. Someone at Clemson did a study a while back on this subject. It was a comparison with one bottle of liquid ferts at 68 degrees in a dark place and the other bottle exposed to 3500 fc of light. Something like a 10% degradation was seen in a month.

Watering your seedling after it sprouts will be your trickest thing...
Remember, it's a two inch tall plant...
It's in a 6.5 gallon bucket...
you only need 4-5 oz per day just keep the top of medium slightly damp for first week...
Water in a circle around your new plants, do not over water, the seedling will float away....and die...
I might start with a one gallon, or less, but you should be fine, since I've planted in my garden some beans and they sprouted...not all but most...bag seed older...
Good Luck !
