Ok so i was just wondering, if there was a plant in the ground and winter came and noone harvested it would it grow bigger and stay alive for next season or would it just die and not re grow?

Depends on countless variables, but to answer your question: cannabis may live for multiple years under correct conditions.

No, MJ is designed to die off every year. I've heard of people keeping a plant alive, but that's probably only in a very tropical environment growing a strain that is used to northern climates.

The key word here is winter.

No, weed can not in any way live through freezing temps at all.

It would be just like any other weed, dead, brown and crispy.
