imagine all the people who just lost a boatload of money with money they had on their accounts and also the vendors who hadn't cashed out yet.. i've no clue how that end works, but i'd imagine there'd be some people taking some major loses atm.. :(

GOOD. No offence, but I've seen first-hand the damage their RC's have caused on the S.A party scene. The latest ones were REALLY fucked-up. 'Synthetic Coke' I believe the kids are calling it. I don't care to know it's full name, it's about a hundred times more gross than BK MDMA, which I don't care WHAT anybody thinks, is EVIL. I've seen what regular use of the stuff does to people. It ain't pretty. Turns people into something that to a bi-polar (me) looks pretty off-the-wall and that's saying something.
I know guys are going to get pissed off, I'm willing to bet most people reading this thread are responsible psychonauts that can handle experimenting with a dab of this and a dab of that. Problem is, gangsters got their game on using Silk Road and have FLOODED the S.A market with these stupid RC's. This changes it from 'hahaha hey this is fun' into 'oh fuck people are going INSANE'. Shoving the stuff into MD capsules, cocktailin' it up like there's no tomorrow. Seriously, DAMAGING youngsters. Shit man, when I was a young 'un we had acid and mushrooms and good pills and you could have a bit of fun and not worry too much. Decades of documented use see. Then along came the RC's. Now it's a MADHOUSE.
Screw that. I'm sick of watching the fallout. It's a mess out here.

silk road's publicity had absolutely nothing to do with the events that took place today, obviously. hate to say you haven't told me so :/
im not trying to be a dick, it was more the idea that it wouldnt last long, and you were insistent that it would live forever. its cool though man i really dont care either way. peace.

the article i read had the actual documents the FBI filed to charge him and he was also caught arranging a "hit" of a person who was threatening to release info on vendors and customers unless DPR gave him 500,000 USD because the user owed a drug debt. Turned out the owner of silk road paid a person 150,000 US in bitcoin to have him killed and the Feds had all the communications proving it. Scary part is the guy was haggling with the hitmen in the emails over the price because his last "hit" only cost him 80,000 USD.....

think of all the people who are borrowing money to purchase items on silk road and now they are in debt with dangerous drug dealers.

people will be losing their lives over this.
people will have a much more difficult time finding pure drugs.
gang activity will increase.
...the negatives could go on for miles.

the philosophy behind silk road was a bit more profound and respectable than "Nah Nah Boo Boo"....

Have you ever tried too convert currency to bitcoin??? That's a process itself, and honestly do you really think a website that sells guns drugs and fake id's etc etc (like a eBay of illegal stuff) was really gonna be around that long??? I'm surprised it lasted as long as it did .. And I bet everyone who ordered something from them (or sold) might be a potential suspect (depending on what they bought/sold)

I could never understand why people would buy or sell there let alone go there.
Its like shooting fish in a barrel for the fuzz.

Now that they control the site and servers they have every record they need to pursue
end users.

Just ask Kim Dotcom about his megaupload servers.
Sites like silkroad will never last.

all my correspondence on silk road is pgp encrypted. i am no fish in a barrel, i am completely safe. there is no proof they control the site and servers. if you look at the picture you will notice a silk road logo in the background, which indicates this potentially could be a fail-safe implemented by DPR in the event that SR is taken down.

all we know is the current DPR has been arrested and will probably never see the light of day again. the legend, the founder, however, is still enjoying his freedom and is probably taking the necessary precautions to further his safety after hearing news like this.
