Raided...

While I think this is a showboat move to stop or at least slow down the (quickly) spreading dispensaries. They all knew this was possible and that they were running illegal operations according to the laws in place today. They took the risk, I'm sure some made good money, now it's time to pay the price, at least to the lawyers.

I don't feel sorry for any of the dispensaries, only the true medical patients who have no other options other than LP's. Their only option until August will be to get robbed for shitty weed by greedy LP's.

Here comes the beginning of CONTROL.
They will need to get ride of all the dispensaries as they wont conform to the new rules that are on the way. I can foresee there being LP shmag shops. Quaint little chemical boutiques that will more than likely glow green at night from radiation. Staffed by Cannabis exports some making up to $11.25 an hour answering any concerns you may have.

Say F*ck control - be a rebel and grow your own.

You seem surprised.. We all knew the liberals weren't going to do this the right way. Tell me again how this is better them the immediate decrim the Ndp were running on? Liberals have no integrity never have.
...not surprised at all...
There's no ethics in business!

Some incentive to grow your own. For <$200/month, hydro, water, soil, pots, depreciation, all-in, I can supply myself with all the meds I need/want plus some left for helping out friends or patients who can't afford LP shwagg. This puts out about a pound (dry-cured) per month for the cost of what 20g at LP prices?

I wonder if this shakedown is just a fact finding mission? Raid them all, gather intelligence and then see what might or might not lead to connections with organized crime?

I dunno...

It's a chest thumping move by the mayor/city/cops. I'd like to think the feds had nothing to do with this (that's another issue though, how about showing some common sense in the interim before legalization?). I'm sure they'll have some "intelligence" (oxymoron intended) pointing to organized crime or the like to justify the raids. The cops are just glad to have something to feel important about, instead of really going out and protecting the community.

Nah. The city had to do something about the explosion of shops. From what I read they were only targeting illegal stores. Id say the average person, pro legalization or not, is frightened by this. I know I am. It's out of control. Obviously cannabis 2.0 can't self police.

Honestly I dont think the cops would be doing this if they hadn't received marching orders from higher up. The last time they raided a dispensary was almost a decade ago and the same dispensary is still in business today. This is cunt face John Tory's doing. I wonder how much Tweed paid him?

They ALL are ILLIGAL. No such thing as a legal dispensary in Canada yet.

Hate to break it to you (and Gmack beat me to it), but all dispensaries are illegal.

Just so I have this right, you are 'frightened' by a storefront selling dried flowers and extracts from those flowers?

Dispensaries aren't 'cannabis 2.0', that prestigious title rests solely with LP's.

This has nothing to do with the feds. They dont dictate to local law enforcement agencies. This is a local matter, just as it was in Vancouver a few weeks ago.

Good hope they go after the growers as well. Profiteering on the back of sick, they deserve every ounce of misery. The growers proving them are even worse. Pretending to be sick and selling your meds gives us all a bad name. And to those how keep asking about proof of mmar corruption you just got it in balck and white print. Still wonder why we were forced into mmrp?

I didn't know that. I thought if you were a patient at some of them etc.
Frightened yes. I might be assuming incorrectly but most of you are pretty young. I'm not. I'm an early 50's father of two teenaged girls.
I love the new cannabis culture. I'm excited to be part of it. However...
Almost every single youtuber I see, instagrammer all encourage toking in cars and on the move. Wtf? It should be thought of as alcohol is. It alters your state of consciousness even in the slightest. And everyone says, "this is a great little pipe for stashing in your glove box". It's wrong. It's sending the wrong message. There's absolutely no one talking about this. Drinking responsibility has been around for a while now but for some reason it doesn't apply to weed. And now you're defending opening hundreds of these with easy access. Of course everyone's upset.
So yeah I'm scared.
I'm also conflicted. :)

If there is an agenda in all of this I'd say it's as simple as votes. There are a lot more non cananbis partaking voters than us I'm afraid.
